Not another g80 horror story

When I bought my truck from a friend who swore it Didn't have a locker anyway I figured it died a long time ago so I put a 1000 miles on it with not problems or locker (I work on a farm so lots of off-road use...doing donuts in the felds) then bam locks on the on ramp in a bad rain storm and it crab walked for about 5 miles

Has this happened to anyone after a series of super scientific tests it works like new I don't understand what could cause this

It's toast and will do it again, possibly at a dangerous time... Disable it by removing the cam lock mechanism or get a rebuild kit online and fix it right so you still have a locker. Or better yet, do what I did and ditch the whole system in favor of an Eaton E-locker and have selectable traction...

Ok I'm gonna take the cover off and take a look I might start looking into a 14 bolt I got a 1 ton just chilling in a field

I replaced the g80 in my 1500 with a Truetrac about 1.5 yrs ago. Should have did it waaay sooner.
