Hey, all. Definitely a newbie here. I am close to making a deal on a 2016 Sierra 3500 SLT (pic below). I want to compare the offer being made to me with some offers for similar vehicle / trim that may be out there. Anyone have a feel for the right range for best deal pricing? Any recommendations on what I should not pay over?

 

Also, I am a long time truck owner, but have not spent much time upgrading from stock with my trucks. I want to change the look and stature with a front level and wheels/tires. The stock wheels are 18". What is best option to level the front and add taller/wider tires to make the truck stand taller? What is the max tire size option without changing too much with wheels and hardware? Thanks!

Obviously not knowing all the options, gas or diesel, no one can tell for sure the exact pricing. But start with 12-15% off MSRP with the dealer and go from there.

Leveling is easy. Crank the torsion bars up 2 inches, put shock extensions in and get a wheel alignment. I have 275/65R18's these are 33.2 x 11. Any bigger and they would rub but I get absolutely no rubbing. The wheels are 18 x 9 with plus 18 offset. Not sure about tire sizing with different offsets though.

It always amazes me when I see a 5 year old truck (or older) that has not one aftermarket accessory added. They sell 1000s of these trucks so you have to make it stand out. On leveling, they make custom keys that keep the geometry correct, they come with shock extensions and do need to be aligned. I drove my truck 100 miles before I leveled it. Truck looks nice, have fun making it different.

Good looking truck. To level it, first start with cranking the stock keys. If you can get enough lift out of them, then you don't need to waste your money on a leveling kit. For tires (assuming you're keeping the stock 18's), a 275/70/18 will fit easily. There are a lot of options in that size, and they're priced fairly low. A 295/65/18 or 285/70/18 will fit easily too, but there aren't a lot of options in those sizes. If you're wanting to go bigger than that, then look into 295/70/18 or 285/75/18. That's about the biggest you can go without trimming anything.

My appologies, I have 275/70 r18's like big whiskey mentions. The 275/65's were on my last truck.
