Interchangeable Body Parts

This is my first post and kind of lame. Being from Maine, the trucks up here come in contact with a lot of road salt. I'm trying to find a new fuel filler door. The only one I could find that was in decent shape and matching color was from a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500. My truck is a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500hd. Does anyone know if this part will fit my truck or where I can find this type of info? Thanks.

A 1995 windshield should fit a 1999 2500HD or 3500HD, but not a 1999 Silverado/Sierra 1500 or light duty 2500.

Yes, there are some newer bumpers that would bolt right up, but other newer ones that won't.
