Pandora Issue 2014 Silverado

I got the same thing....they replied and asked for a bunch of build info and then I sent it to them and they said they were aware and working on it.   Seemed good they were at least trying to get it to work but it's still not fixed yet.    Agreed its a pandora issue that happened on the last update.   especially since we are all on different phones/android builds.    I think Bill has the right idea rolling back to the previous version.  I was just hoping they would roll out an update quickly and fix it.

I mean, I think we all know pandora isn't the greatest but it's fine.    it's just so dang convenient to use the app and controls on the truck without manually doing anything on the phone.   I only started using it once I bought the truck for that feature.  if I have to switch to only using the manual streaming then sure I'd use spotify or google play music more.   it's just more of a hassle.   first world problems to be sure.

I got basically the same reply from "Spencer".

However, last night I did get a new Pandora update on my phone! We'll see!

I did get a Pandora update last week. However, it's still messed up. I also noticed that Google maps does not connect until I force Pandora to connect. Maybe this is a Samsung issue? Has anybody reached out to Samsung Support on this problem?

With the most recent update, my pandora app in the Silverado has started to work again. Its worked twice so far. I'll be trying it again later.

I updated the app after seeing your post earlier and mine worked tonight too! Ahhhhh

And then TMobile had a deal today for customers for a free year of Pandora plus, sitting pretty!

I received an email from Pandora support saying they had identified and fixed the problem. Asked me to update the app....Woo Hoo! It works again for me as well!

Has anyone had connectivity issues with the app lately? It was working a few days ago but now I cannot get it to connect at all to the truck. The app was updated 2 days ago and I'm not sure if the recent update is not compatible with the version of the app running in the truck anymore.
Pandora will play through the bluetooth media player fine. This is strictly an issue with the app in MyLink.

The phone is a Google Pixel 2 XL if that is any help.

Steps I have taken so far:

Removed all phones from the Bluetooth memory.

Uninstalled the app on my phone.

Cleared the Cache of Pandora.

Tried in on position while running and off.

Unclicked the advanced setting for connecting to the car in the pandora app on my phone and reclicked it.

Soft reset of my phone.

Attempted starting the pandora app everyway possible pretty much.

Let me know if anyone has seen this before!

Thank you!

I have a 2016 Sierra 1500 and for the first 6 months that I had it Pandora worked great. Then I went to a paid version and about 9 months in the 1 year contract I started having issues. Pandora would complain that I was listening somewhere else and would refuse to play, I only used it in my truck. Then it would not start or kept saying aquiring or no signal available and go to off line mode. When the year was up I went back to the free version and it was OK for a while. Then I got a coupon for a free 3 month trial of the premium service where you can create playlists and more. I finally cancelled the trial about 2 months in to it due to the problems. Mostly that it would say no signal and wanted to be off line all the time.

After that I went back to the free version and it worked ok until 2 weeks ago, it just said check the connected device and would not work at all. I could play it through the Blue Tooth Media but not using the Pandora App on the radio screen.  Then all of a sudden this morning it was working again. I noticed that it said on my phone  that Pandora was connected to my radio and I tried it and it was working again. Just had a 12 hour ride to an from Ohio in the past 8 days and it didn't work at all. Not sure who's fault it is Pandora or GM's radio but it is annoying! I had tried all of the steps that others had tried with no success.

I thought the update this week broke it again but I checked the release notes and they said if you are running Oreo or later the Launch by Car will be turned off.    So I had to manually go into the settings under advanced and turn it back on to get running again.   just fyi..

sometimes when mine is sketchy all I do is change the input (like double click up with my left steering wheel finger button to select a radio preset) then hit the pandora icon again on the screen and it will boot up.   that works when it doesn't automatically start when the car does.

Thanks very much for posting. I just got my new Note 9 and I thought it was just the same ole fail to launch again. I also switched from Pandora to say Radio and back again. Then it would launch. I just checked my phone and the launch from car icon was NOT checked.

Same thing happened to me. I thought some update broke it again. I finally went into the advanced settings and the auto launch setting was un-checked. After selecting it, seems to be back to operation. Dang..someone should tell them an old maintenance saying. "If it works, don't fix it!"

    • I have thought an EV might have some practical value in extending the life of the ICE members of ones fleet. Now....I'm convinced of it. I've been letting my better half access Raven (Mitsubishi Mirage) for her needs while Dizzy has been in the shop. Being the fuel freak I am and given the fact Raven is capable of over 60 mpg in clean air on a warm day I was taken back by the wife's ability to take a car that had used a half a tank of gas that to that point had returned a value of 57 mpg and return in with a decimating 51 mpg for that same tank in that same day in a 15 mile round trip of short hop errands and a stop in the drive through at Micky D's.  😱   Trust me on this. It would take the remainder of that tank driven on the highway to return that tank to just 54 mpg. This is not a Mitsubishi issue. This is an ICE issue that is magnified in vehicles capable of such high fuel economy values. On a percentage basis your 1500 does the same thing. Short hopping an ICE consumes a good deal more fuel and in doing so provides zero additional useable outputs. That entire volume of fuel is wasted in diluting the cylinder walls oil films, creating crankcase moisture and acid content and the resultant wear.    Enter the SLATE. All of that is avoided and the ICE's advantage in range and made useful at reduced wear for your ICE!   Kind'a cool.
    • Back in the day people would buy cars based on performance. The charger posted does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. And it’s fully loaded.  It has a decent warranty and will fit most anyone’s needs. Remember the original Hemi? 90 day warranty. 25K mini truck or that car? I’d go with the car. It wouldn’t fit my perimeter. If I could just talk my wife out of her Genesis. It would be perfect for her.
    • Let's pivot this back. Someone said they wanted pictures.   Even better, there's already video. Pre-prod prototypes are already on the road and they're letting the press drive them.   JerryRigEverything did a good review. I really enjoy his content and EV adventures, so I was thrilled when he had the chance to review a Slate:
    • The Charger EV was stillborn. Wrong car at the wrong price for Dodge's intended audience. Now at a good price with fire-sale discounts, and still not selling, it's still very much the wrong car. Again, Dodge's intended audience. I believe a lot of Stellantis' EV blunders were all under Tavares' regime at Stellantis...the board convinced him to move on. Neat car, just wasn't received on the level that would sustain mass production.   Dodge is headed in a better direction for its core business. I didn't think there was anything left to get excited about re: the Durango after its 15 year run, but they're just now releasing a 392 version that should price out in the low 40's. Nicely done. I'm not sure I would touch anything Stellantis makes with a 10' pole these days, but the Durango is still mostly parts designed like 3 parent companies ago so maybe it's still OK?
