Even at stockish hight the rear of these trucks leave a lot on the table. Nasty knows.
There is every option in the world. But leaf springs is the worst. 4 link the best. Even bolt in kit or weld in. Relocated behind axle coilovers.
I know I think to big.

Oh I have seen people clamp the overload spring down so the rear is stiffer as a cheap handling mod.

Your best mod would be better rims and tires then bushings with suspension.

A 4-link conversion would be sweet.  I think tires are key, the eco-focused Michelin factory 265/65’s leave a bit to be desired.  Hell, there’s better street truck tires from Michelin themselves.  Do you by chance have a link to a bushing kit?

What your sounding like is you just want a lowering kit. Not handling. If youre wanting a 65 tall tire. Thats a lot of sidewall and sidewall flex. Not good for "handling"

I have had good luck with a set of 4600’s on a Dakota R/T that was an impressive little thing and 5100’s on a 04 SCSS Z71that never, and believe me I tried a few times, got stuck hard enough that I couldn’t crawl my a$$ out with 4LO.  That said, I know Bilstein aren’t the only people making dampers.  King and Fox are quite popular for trucks, but not really for those going down in ride height.  I guess I could look at Koni and KYB.  Looking at KW (in bed with Belltech)...  I gather they have quite the history making really, really good stuff too.  What kit or kits come to mind to you?

My 92 has belltec, does it handle as well as my sports car, no. For a truck it does really well. 2af269f7f35f6ce1771d6cedb17fbca4.jpg The kick plates even say belltec on them.

2/4?  Looks very nice...  I’m with you.  If I really want to hit corners...  My Charger is quite good at that.  I can see why LEO’s really like them in their V6, V8, bigger V8 (DPS special) flavors.

2/4 on a k2 looks stock still. Here is my k2 on a 4.5/7 drop2811f2c525630138311649ba4bf51ad7.jpg

A modest to moderate improvement in how well it’s goes around corners...  not unlike what Chevrolet did with the GMT800 SS, the K2XX SEMA Performance Concept, Dodge did with the Dakota R/T, and Ford did with the Lightning.

Those coil overs look interesting.

Don’t they?

I just have the regular Belltech 4/6 drop with their shocks all around.  It handles great.

Belltech or mcg spindle. Belltech or mcg flip kit (2/4 drop) trusted metal works front coilover conversion and twisted metal workz rear shock relocation kit. The end

I was leaning more 60 if I stick with an 18” wheel...  or a 285/50-20 if I don’t...

Or you wait a week and before the paint dries nasty wants something new and sells his. Haha just joking nasty.
But he is right.
2/4 is nothing but what you want ok then spindlenis 2 drop and you can or not do any strut and spring or coilovers. Rear i would go the 4+ maybe a little more and helper bag.added stiffness. I can thank nasty for that air bag kit.
And relocated shocks are the way to go in the rear.
Room to grow.
Then with all the money you saved get rims and tires and enjoy.
