Biggest tires on AT4 20" stock wheels with NO modification

Recommended Posts

Anyone do 275/65/20 Toyo AT3's stock and did they rub?  Trying to decide between the 275/65 and 275/60's, but unfortunately Toyo doesn't make an LT version in 275/60.  I've seen a couple pics stock with the 275/65's but they looked really tight up front.   No looking to go wider, just taller.

I have a new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4, 4WD, Crew Cab Short Box. It has the factory 2" lift.   I have the stock 18" tires and rims that come with the truck.

I am looking to go 20" rim but need to figure out what is the biggest tire in a 20" that I can put on without rubbing or doing any trimming.   I am just looking for the aesthetic of biggest tire and that it comes out of the wheel well just a little.

I have been researching it and seen so many different sizes such as

LT285/60R20

305/55R20

LT275/60R20

The rims I am looking at putting on are

Fuel Zephyr.    20x9 +18mm offset

XD842 Snare. 20x9 + 20mm offset

Any input is greatly appreciated.   Picture of the truck I just got.

I had accelera m/t 01 35/12.50 on stock 20s and just mounted 37s today so if you're interested in them I'll sell them to you. And you can see that I fit them with no problem. I did do a 1.5" motofab leveling kit to fix the rake (which is also for sale) but it was not added until a month laterd1337df7220039585d85cfda660d0d9d.jpg36b0a1541b82caf5717b16f47d010144.jpg0c4c3a2e222a355fb608af3e938d2c01.jpg30f3a64dcb531064d20dd15767c693a7.jpg

Hi sir I know this post is old by now... Do you think I could fit 22" wheels with the same size tires? I have a level kit I plan to install as well.

My truck came with 18x9 275/65/20 Duratracs. I want to swap to 20’s so I just ordered Method 20x9 +18 with 285/60/20 with high hopes not to rub on stock suspension. The offset should push the wheel out by 10mm or so, so I’m not worried about the UCA but rubbing is a concern.

Not trying to derail an old thread but has anyone tried this setup?

I chose +18 for the 5.7” backspacing as I plan to get a bds lift eventually.

Its been a while but what did you end up going with? Any rubbing or trimming? Asking because I’m in the same boat with ordering now 20x9 +18 and want to go with 285/60/20 ridge grapplers

Mine is a Silverado, not a Trail Boss, but with a 2" level front/1" block rear.  I just installed 20x9 +19mm Fuel Sledge with 285/60/20 Toyo A/T III's, no rub. They stick out a little past flush, about 5/8".

Hope this helps.

Good luck

How much clearance do you have? I’m not yet lifted or leveled. Hoping this setup works in the AT4

No. I used Bilstein 6112's in front, 1" Block in rear with Bilstein 5160's.

When I get a chance I will see if I can get a measurement for you. It is close, but not too bad. I really debated to go with the 285/60's, or try the 305/55's. I did not want to do any trimming if necessary, but I would consider removing the bracket behind the mud flaps. But turns out I do not have to do either.

Thanks for the details. Was the level necessary for the tires to not rub or do you think it would fit stock suspension?

I didn't do the Level just to fit the tires, I did the level because I like the look. I would of done the Level if I was sticking with the stock size tires. Plus, the Bilsteins feel so much better, night and day difference over the factory Z71 Rancho shocks.

As it sits now, I think the front height is close to what a stock Trail Boss/AT4 would be. I am not sure if my set-up would of fit if I left it stock height.
