Adding Power Outlets

Hey Guys,

New truck owner here and today I took my vehicle into chevy to do a spray-in bed liner. They gave me a loaner truck that is exactly like mine except for a few extra features. I have a 2019 Silverado LT Texas Edition and the loaner came with a power plugin in the bed of the truck and one on the passenger side near the switches. I was wondering how difficult it would be to add these parts myself? I've called chevy to see if they could install them for me, but they haven't called me back.

My RST has the 110v outlets. That task may be more involved than you think. You'd need the outlets, harness, invertor and I'm sure that's all programmed through ECM.

and what kind of power do you expect from the outlets?  I think the GM OEM setup is rather low-power, as in, 400-500W or so.

Not worth the effort to have them out in or do it yourself.  It's all computer controlled and built into the harness.  Not to mention the low amps and wattage of both (the back outlet is rated slightly higher(.

If you truly need more than the gimmick 110v outlet that comes in cars, buy an inverter online or at a truck stop.  I've ran a fridge, electric blanket, and an Xbox off of one when I was a longhaul trucker.  They aren't cheap, but work way better.
