My truck is a 2019 LT 5.3, CCSB that originally came with the equivalent of DL8 spec mirrors. The part number I ordered was for the 2020 Silverado off the GM Accessories website, 84731241. I did NOT order the new harnesses for the mirrors yet. Newdude has posted the specific part numbers and specs for the different harnesses. Power adjustment and heat worked right away. But the turn signals, clearance lamps, and courtesy backup lights did not. The mirrors came with an authorization code for programing. But I’m very interested to see if they will just work once the harnesses come in. Before I installed the mirrors I took a 9V battery and tested the pins, I was able to get the clearance lights and courtesy backup lights working. We'll find out soon enough.

Some notes I observed during the install:

For those who keep up with their GVWR regarding towing – these mirrors are HEAVY. Literally more than double the weight of the DL8’s. My stock mirrors came in at 3lbs, the tow mirrors were 7.5lbs each. So you are adding nearly 10lbs to your truck (or 10lbs off your payload.)

The second you get the last bolt off your mirror will fall to the ground. Be ready to hold it.

When installing the new mirror, there is a foam gasket from the old mirror that does not come with the new mirror. I wasn't sure if I needed it but I put it on anyway. The thin foam gasket is not the same as the harder rubber gasket that comes with the new mirror.

Torque the new bolts in a criss-cross pattern to make sure the new gaskets seal correctly.

When removing the mid panel trim piece, start at the pointed front and pull back as it has a hinge in the back.

Good news - unlike the K2's, no drilling is required to get the mirrors installed. They use 4 bolts just like the stock mirrors did.

Here's the general install steps:

Remove the trim panel behind the inside door handle

Remove the 7mm bolt behind that panel

Remove the mid-door panel

Remove the two 7mm bolts behind the mid-door panel

Remove the two 7mm bolts at the bottom of the door trim panel (bottom of the door by the weatherstrip)

Pull the door trim panel from the bottom, work your way up each side of the panel

Grab the trim panel at the 3 o'clock & 9 o'clock position and wiggle it like a steering wheel to pop it lose

Unplug the main door electrical connector

Disconnect the door handle cable

Remove the black plastic weather plug covering the mirror anchor socket

Remove the mirror connector

Unbolt the 4 - 13mm mirror nuts

Install the new mirror and reverse the process

Sorry to comment on an old thread but I dont have tow mirrors and i wsnt them.

My old 2015 I added them and it was legit the best decision ever.

I have a 2020 LT trailboss does not have the HD camera or 360* view stuff. If i upgrade to tow mirrors it is plug n play to have them power adjust correct? Personally i dont care about the mirror lights. I mean this place offers a harness for $160 so that aint bad might just do it. But does anything need to be flashed? Or can i just plug my harness and tow mirror in and everything will work?

This is what im looking at. Figured buy these and sell my old ones. Especially since the camera sucks this will help

Correct. If you have a 2020 LT Trail Boss the power adjust and heat will work out of the box. Plug and play.

Thank you for the quick reply thinking imma just do it.

Do you think its worth paying the 160 for the harness? Is that gonna give me lights and everything? Will the dealer have to flash it?

You’re welcome. If the dealer is installing and flashing for $160 - yes that’s worth every penny. And yes - getting the harness makes the lights work.

If $160 is only the parts and no labor or flashing - then no. However doing it yourself is a good 6 hour wiring project. But on the plus side doing it yourself you don’t have to flash the BCM.

Yeah $160 was just for the harness off the website. Not sure how much itd be for the install/ flash.

I actually wouldnt mind doing the wiring myself. Do you have instruction on that? I couldn't find them online. I definitely got the time to do it.

I remember reading a similar thread about adding towing mirrors to the 2014 - 2017 Silverado's. Folks were having the same problem with all the features not working if they didn't have all those features on their original mirrors. This thread showed how to modify the wiring harness to get all the features working. I don't know if this info will apply to the 2019/2020 models though.

On the lower trim packages even with the auto dimming rear view mirror. the side mirrors do not dim. [emoji35]

on my elevation X31 if I add the auto dimming chrome mirrors instead of the black tow mirrors I currently have will I gain Auto dimming? getting pretty tired of these kids here in Alaska with their bright ass light bars blinding me from a mile behind.

My rear-view mirror has Auto dim.

Trying to avoid the other solution which is to do 5% tint on my front windows.

My 03 2500hd has 5% all around it and although it's not a nightmare to drive at night, any time that I backup I have to roll the windows all the way down to see in the mirrors and when it's -40 out that's the last thing you want to do.

I just got my 20. The dealer changed the mirrors as part of the deal. They also had to change the harness and do a program. All features work.

Do you have the Tech pkg/360 view cameras?
