No leaker here so can't do a 100% verification, but the problem seems to be with the spoiler design, regardless of weather the sealer leaks or not, and any cracks in the trim make it worse. Retirement leaves me plenty of time to have fun - so why not play with the rear window.pour some water not on the roof, but on top of the spoiler and watch the action.....water curls underneath the bottom edge of the spoiler and curls under onto the top of the plastic frame holding the window.....heavy enough flow with a crack in the frame or even a minuscule leak in the seal (or along sides of the window which is not included in the GM seal fix) will go over the top of the seal and into the headliner and drip down the window. Previous poster and my previous post had the idea of a placing a drip rail on the underside of the spoiler. Today I tried it without as described above and then with a drip rail of 1/4" side molding tapes at the bottom of the "drip rail". It was too cold to properly place across the whole length but a shorter piece proved the drips now came off the bottom of the molding onto the back of the window instead of curling back under the spoiler and onto the top of the frame. If you have a leaker you should get a bottle of water pour it just on top of the spoiler and see for yourself.....what have you got to lose?..........if you have a leaker and want to try a molding across the bottom of the spoiler, it can always be easily removed with no damage. Might even be more effective with the molding placed across the seam of the spoiler and resting on the window surface. See photos (video won't load) Take it for what it is worth.....shows water curling under the bottom lip of the spoiler on top of the window frame and drips coming off the molding instead of curling under the spoiler.5 points

Hi Guys, For what its worth, I loaned my new truck to Bilstein to use my 2020 Silverado Crewcab 4X4 3.0L Dramax as a test mule last week. I am near their San Diego Corporate office and hooked up with them. They kept my truck for 6 business days. Great group of guys @ Bilstein. They fit prototypes and said they will let me know when the production parts are ready to test fit on my truck. Hopefully this helps get their products to production sooner!!! btw, this is only for front, they did throw a free set of 5100's on the back in the meantime. Best regards, Mike2 points

Clamped open flapper and covered all 6 exhaust screens. Cost me less than $20 at home depot. The exhaust screens first didn't do that much. Clamping open the flapper seemed to make the most difference. Side note. Check your flapper. Mine appeared to stuck and didn't want to open and close freely until I rotated it by hand several times. I would say it is now one notch below the borla touring I had on my 16 z71 5.3. I was also surprised with the flapper clamped open, I really didn't defect any of the helicopter noise I used to get on the 16 5.3 truck I had in V4. I do have duratacs for tires so maybe it does helicopter a little bit and I just don't hear it. I also like that it doesn't make a whistling noise as the air moves past the flapper valve that I used to hear when I had my back window open and stomped on it. I think the exhaust sounds just right now. Not quite hey look at me loud, it sounds like a real v8 now. Especially on a cold start. And if you don't like, I can put it back to stock in less than 5 minutes. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk1 point

Good point. Multitasking as I get older gets harder. Lol. As far as ping I def heard it on mine cruising about 40 to 50 when pressing accelerator slightly going up a hill Tune installed. Same stretch of road stock tune it’s not there. So for me it wasn’t worth it to keep the tune since it wasn’t my objective in the first place. Stock is fine with me. Yes thank you. I understand the reason for shock hoops and how suspension works. I was looking at the bds kit that has weld in hoops but doesn’t push the wheels out like a long travel. Seems like too much work for stock width stuff. think I’m going with fox 2.5 front and rear through Accutune, Bajakits chase UCA, deaver u182 With camburg extended shackles. Then I’ll trim the front wheel wells and squeeze some 35’s in it.1 point

Yes, they are the same between '17 & '18. DL3 mirrors are power fold, power adjust, auto-dimming, turn signal in glass with puddle lamp. DL8 are the manual, power adjust less the other features.1 point

I went with the flax in the front as well, something about them seems more warm or natural, to me anyways.1 point

I love the looks of a slightly lowered truck that still keeps its functionality and ride quality. They look so tough! Cant wait to see it done. If my wife would let me I'd have a mid 80s short box lowered. Nothing to crazy just want that muscle truck look. Sent from my SM-J337R4 using Tapatalk1 point

I agree. We’ve had our truck now for 3 months and most trips are short. Haven’t had any issues with regen and mileage has been averaging 24-25 around town.1 point

I am not opposed to traveling to get what I want. I have looked at the inventory nationwide and the only truck with the exact build I want is in Summit White. I am really wanting to stick with the Northsky Blue.. maybe Red Quartz. There is a very close contender in Ohio that I may reach out on. Once the idea set in I can order exactly what I want instead of settling I decided I will fight my way through to get what I want. The added bonus now is you all get to experience the stupidity I am dealing with.1 point

I would NEVER place a deposit without knowing what the price is first!!!! Only a fool would do that because then they have you over a barrel and you will pay full MSRP less the factory incentives. The dealer would have no reason to negotiate price at that point. I made my deal in full and had my price in writing, signed by the sales manager, the salesman and myself with all the final numbers. It is also in writing that I am guaranteed the incentives that were offered the day we signed OR the incentives offered the day I take delivery, whichever is better.1 point

New member, first post. Found this website and forum while searching the web for photos and information on truck caps for these new style GM pickups. More information and photos here on the caps for the new trucks than all the cap manufacturers put together show online. Beautiful trucks and caps pictured here guys!! I've had caps on my GM pickups since 1987, for me its the only way to go. Bought a new Sierra 1500 SLT CC Short Box in mid-January. My caps have always been Leer, except for one Century. Last one was a Leer 100XL on a 2010 Silverado LTZ installed when the truck was about a month old. Great cap, still in fine shape 9+ years later when I purchased the new Sierra. Only things replaced on that cap were the handle and latching mechanism along with the shocks after 6 years. Narrowed my choice for a new top down to two caps, the ARE Z2 and a Leer 100XQ. I love the looks of the window styling on those caps with the new trucks. Ben Bolte's Dec 31st post on page 5 certainly looks like a Leer 100XQ. My problem on the Leer was I have the MultiPro Tailgate and the Leer website says it is not available. Attempted to contact Leer direct, with no success(as several of you have noted). Two weeks ago I stopped at the Leer dealer and told him I really liked the 100XQ, but they did not offer it for my truck. He picked up the phone, got his contact at Leer, and asked him when it would be available for the MultiPro Tailgate. The answer- It is now available for the MultiPro Tailgate, around a 4 week lead time. Checked out an ARE Z2, really nice cap, and a price to match! Placed the order for a Leer 100XQ last week.1 point

ok just test drove a 17 Sierra z71 crew cab from a dodge dealer. I notice a little vibration, dealer said possible wheel out of balance. I would think this truck should ride smoother than my 07 H3 with oversized all terrain tires. Is this the "chevy shake" everyone is talking about? There going to balance the tires and we'll see??1 point

Those look terrific, if I ever bought steps it would be these!1 point

Just picked up an AT4, needed better towing for my cargo trailer toy hauler conversion, ZR2 just wasn’t cutting it! Plus the 8-speed shutter was an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Since the dealership put swirls on it running it through the carwash I did paint correction on it. Nanoskin clay mitt, the used my DA with white pads and meguiars 205. Had a couple of spots had to use a orange pad and 105. Then for the final coat put on Collinite 845. First time I have used it. Goes on easy and comes off easy if you use a thin layer. Will see how it stands up.1 point

Good idea and hope it works but we shouldn't have to do this homemade, band aid, shadetree crap on brand new trucks. GM should be mortified sending out so many leakers. In the 2020 models too. Will 2021 be any different?1 point

I used to only have a land line too. Now I have a cell phone. People are slow to adopt new technology, mostly because change is uncomfortable. I have the 2.7 and love it, leased it a week ago so idgaf about resale. Does everything I want and frankly it's easier driving and more snappy than my 2017 LTZ 5.3. All the gripes about it not being THAT much better on efficiency are pretty misinformed. At first glance it's going to be 20-25% more efficient than my last truck and that's probably pretty conservative. I averaged about 16.5mpg lifetime on that with mixed city/highway. This thing is averaging 19.5 with a fair bit of spirited driving. I'm not towing a skidsteer to the job site everyday so for a the bulk of pickup drivers that are weekend warriors and DIY aficionados these things are perfect. I would love to hear a custom exhaust mod on the 2.7L. I was next to a new Raptor with a custom exhaust the other day at a stoplight. When he mashed the gas after the light turned green, I just laughed and laughed at the sound coming out of his rear end.1 point

I really don't like the rake look, plus I don't want the bed to get too high for loading stuff into it (ie with thicker blocks). I just ordered a set of 5100's and a Firestone Ride-Rite helper spring air bag kit. I plan to level the truck with the Bilsteins and then if there is any sag while towing or loaded up I can inflate the bags to level it back out. The kit is 2430 for our trucks and can handle up to 4800lbs (obviously more than the payload of a 1/2 ton) so it should be more than capable.1 point

Air bags work much better and you can deflate for smoother ride, adding leaf will make your truck ride like poo poo [emoji90] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
