Update: Paid deposit for 4.10 gears installed by 4WheelParts on Monday next week, and a custom tune by Nelson in San Antonio shortly afterward..

Fear the gear a little, but excited none the less

Just got my truck back with 4.10's.. I feel a small difference in power and my speedo is off about 10mph at 70 (reads 80 actually 70) and about 5mph at lower speeds. I confirmed this with a friend driving next to me.

I'm not totally blown away yet but......

The shop said a tune will fix everything and "loosen" up my truck...

I'm doing that next at Nelson in San Antonio.. Hopefully along with some headers... I'll keep y'all posted.

Thanks for all your input.

Yes sir you're absolutely right.. At actual 70 I'm running at about 1900 rpm and it downshifts a lot less...

At slower speed (in town) it looks like I'll actually save some gas. Im sure I'll be happy once I tune it..

Can't wait to try towing and a little off-roading.

Doing things right was the reason I created this account, and so far so good.

Thanks Blackout and everyone else

No prob man. Once you get the tuning worked out and have torque management removed, then you will see a big difference.

Geared to 4.10, got a custom tune in the calendar... Now for headers..... What do y'all think of Pacesetters? That's all I can find down here...

Should I hold out for a better brand?

What would y'all choose... Need to decide before Monday so i tune with all my mods.

Update: Tuned by Nelson (San Antonio) Great service..Tuned for better drivability.

Best thing Ive done so far...! Totally different truck now.. That along W the 4.10's huge difference.. Truck feels lighter and waaaay more responsive. Firmer shift points growing on me too..

For sure will save some gas in the city but will most likely stay at 14mpg on the hwy going 70.
