I know 255's were a factory size on 2wd's when the gmt-800's had 16's. Had the factory size 255/70R16 on my truck. Changed out the 235s to the 255's now I run 275's. Just me but I prefer to run a size GM puts on. Wasn't factory and I retuned. Just me but that's how I like it but I'm 2wd and tow a lot.

Had to get some tires asap! The store didn't have my stock tire so I had to go with 255, The reason I didn't go larger was because the clerk was trying to convince me that if I go larger that I could have serious problems with my truck. I had to pick tires up that day so I went and got some General Grablers AT2 255/70/17. Oh well, my old tires were in pretty bad condition, also I pull a trailer for work and need to be safe on the road.
