Service 4WD on 2005 Yukon XL

Service 4wd is coming on for my 05 Yukon XL 150. We bought the truck at 62k and it now has 85k. Normal maintenance for the transfer case is 50k I think. Is there a service message that comes on once you've exceeded a mileage threshold for the 4wd if it hasn't been reset? What might be some other potential problems ?

no to your thinking,,,,

 

it has a DTC and needs to scanned and diagnosed ,

 

get the code and reply or have a shop fix it ,

 

it could be anything ,,,

 

refer to owners manual for more info on DIC messages

I had it diagnosed and they came up with CO379 and CO374. They found that both axle seals in the front differential are leaking. Do these codes have to do with the seals leaking and the Service 4WD message ?

nope,

 

they were not diagnosed only scanned

 

379 is typically the sensor inside the encoder motor which i would recommend getting done by a tech and the other code needs to be gone thru .....take it in
