Anyone here run the Fox coil overs on the front of their truck? I have a 2WD with 5" knuckle and a 1.5 spacer. I just went from a 33" to a 35 and have a little rubbing at the inside trim. I don't want o cut so thinking of going with the coil over so I can adjust to what I need for clearance.  Just curious on ride quality. Or is there any others I. The price range that are good?

Fox, King, and CST are your best bet

Finally got a nice weekend to clean this bad boy up! Yes I know looks like I skipped leg day with those tires! There will be 35’s soon!

Fabtech Gen 2 kit is a great choice! Did not widen track width! Quality products!

Any fitment/rubbing issues?  I noticed their website says cannot use OEM rim and tires.

No fit Issues so far. Fabtech requires a 5” offset to clear the knuckle. I have oem 20” wheels and it clears. Now I may have rubbing once I install the 35” tires? Don’t look like smaller wheels will work as they wount clear the lower ball joint. I will post an update once the larger tires are installed. But so far no issues! Very happy with the install

I tried to search the whole website several times and either can't figure out the search feature, or (would be shocking if true) nobody has discussed this before?

I am driving a 2014 Silverado 1500 2WD with 3.5" RC spacers up front and 2" blocks in rear, with 33" Wildpeak AT3Ws on the factory 18" LT wheels. The tires weigh about 60lbs each... and after 146,000 miles (not all lifted- lift went on at 100k) and the steep RC angles, the tie rods need replaced.

I ordered MOOG parts even though I've heard their quality slipped, inner and outer tie rods for both driver & passenger sides.

I've seen advertised those tie rod sleeves, to reinforce the 1/2" thick tie rods to keep them from bending or breaking with heavier tires or more spirited driving.

My question is if they are worth putting on; now's the time since I'm replacing the tie rods anyway. But if they are like throttle body spacers and are completely pointless, I don't wanna waste $40.

Anybody know if this is an actual benefit, or just a money grab?

Thanks.

I've never heard of these tie rod sleeves

But when tie rods wear out its typically the balljoint part of them that's worn out.

Yeah, the ball joints are definitely the reason they are getting replaced. I just have seen some websites selling thicker, "reinforced" tie rods; or selling these threaded sleeves that go over the skinny part of the factory inner tie rod and take the place of the jam nut. The idea being, adding a steel collar over the thinnest part of the tie rod would prevent it from bending if you hit a curb or take it off road, etc.

It sounds like a money grab to me, I've never heard of someone bending a tie rod unless they crashed and then that's just one of many damaged components.

I'd say it's a money grab as well

Doesnt help steep tie rod angles any

Only rough country lift that'll keep your factory angles is the 5" bracket lift

These are used alot in the Duramax diesel world, the torque from those engines can bend the tie rods on a 4wd launch.  They aren't really necessary for the gas engine half tons.

Just ordered Zone 6.5 lift, Carven Competition catback, KN intake, Black Rhino Fury wheels, 35in Tires, LC2i and sub add on for Bose system, and Diablo I3 tuner.  And my truck is an 18 with 1000 miles.  Lol.    Hopefully I’ll have it all on in a couple weeks.

6”skyjacker lift kit it’s been on for a while...  but I was wanting more lately so I added rancho level it struts 70k so I figured it was time to replace anyways...   I pulled out the 1” lower strut lift I had on there so the extra inch is barely noticeable but rides fine.  Adding new UCA’s next weekend before I get a new alignment.

rear has 5.5” blocks rear add a leaf and lift shackles.

I really like this, everything just works together.

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
