I drive 66 miles per day with 80% of that being interstate driving. I fill up once a week. I would love to level but I am worried about losing mpg. Any thoughts on how to avoid losing mpg?

Leveling won't lose but maybe 1 MPG on the highway. I have had a level since the day I got the truck and still see up to 21-23 MPG during the summer and 17-19 during the winter.

Don't put bigger/heavier wheels and tires on. A level is fine, but it's the wheels tires that kill mpg.

Rough Country 2inch level up front . Zone add a leaf out back 275/65r20 Duratracs.

How do you find the change in ride characteristics? Is the rear much stiffer?

I can only hear it when im stopped in drive or reverse. Not all the time but half the time.

Anyone know why RC has this kind of block for the rear? http://www.roughcountry.com/gm-leveling-lift-kit-1305-10.html

Zone has tappered 2" blocks like this http://www.zoneoffroad.ca/suspension-parts/leaf-spring-components/lift-blocks-2-tapered-2-3-blocks-3-4-pin-part-number-zonu3022/

I decided to start with a 2" level up front. I just want to see what my options are for the rear if need be.

Thanks!

I'm very disappointed in the plastic skid plates on these trucks. driving on a ranch road i had something come up and knock a good crack/hole in my skid plate. anybody know where to find a decent metal skid plate it looks like they don't even make them yet

It probably is stiffer but I don't notice. I think it handles better and you can actually put some weight in the rear without it sagging.

on my 2010 gmc all terrain 1500 I ran an add a leaf and a hellwig helper spring.

For those of you with 1.5-2" of level, what max diameter tire are you able to clear? I'm thinking 34" would be the max limit with trimming, 33 with little to no trimming, and 32.5 with no trimming.

As for thickness i think with stock offset 11.5 is going to be max.

I found 295/60/20 Trail Graps for 260$ a tire new. Incredible price honestly.

34's did not require trimming, at least for me. See my signature block and photo gallery for more details. Smartest solution is to have your shop do a test fit before committing the $$, that's what Discount Tire did for me.

Looks really nice. any rubbing?

Thank you sir! I haven't gotten it to rub yet, so I'm thinking I'm in the clear on the normal driving.

I just took mine to the dealer for this. I brought my iPad in and played the video another fella posted in the problem section.

I told him I think either something has come loose right where the steering wheel attaches to the column like a piece of plastic or something.

He took off the wheel and said that one of the screws had backed out and actually rubbed a groove into the base of the mounting surface of the wheel. He put locktite on the screws and re fastened. Thought problem was solved...

But as I pulled out of the parking space from the dealer it sure as shit was back...

Almost flipped out but just accepted the fact that this truck just has a clicking steering wheel and that's that.

I don't have the mental health left to pick apart this truck after trading in my brand new lemon Ram 1500 for this truck which is my dream truck. This truck has to many good things to make a big deal out of a click here or a rattle there.

But if you want to start your battle, I would start looking there.
