Well I think GM nailed the exterior styling on both the GMC and the Chevy. I actually like the mid-century modern influenced interior of the GMC. Dropping the SLT is a bummer as I thought that was the sweet spot. Hopefully this expands the options available on the Elevation trim. Won't miss the SLE which was just Worktruck+ to me.
I finally got around to getting the above Rear Wheel Well Liners as out 2024 2500 HD Custom did not come with rear wheel liners
Included with the liners there are some plastic Christmas tree fasteners with washers .
I can see that these will work in the round holes in the sheet metal of the wheel wells but what about the line of small square holes in the sheet just above the frame ?
Did you use the round Christmas tree fasteners in those holes as well ?
Also where do the washers get placed that came with the Christmas tree fasteners ? On the back side of the sheet metal to hold the fastener ?
Thank you
Update to this issue as I have now 2 seprate threads on it . JR has graciously offered to help me out by posting a vide of the starting of a 2024 2500 HD 6.6 Gas so I may see and hear what his truck sound like when starting
If any of you fellas have the same truck and would care to video a cold remote start so I can tell if it is similar to my it would be appreciated
Thank You
How many miles were on the truck when you bought it and was there some form of oil change history generated through a dealer or an independent shop although not much would show up if the owner had changed their own oil. Just curious if it was a maintenance issue or if there was something off from the start, surely one would think the original owner would have realized it was using a lot of oil, its hard to go back in time and find out the true story of mysteries like this. Well hopefully the warranty company will go for it and just install a new engine, that would be the ideal outcome.
I still have so few miles on my truck as per not quite 9000 and will be changing the oil shortly which has around 2700 miles on it or so and its down so little on the dipstick from where it was at the beginning of this oil change that I could make the "claim" that it uses no oil but in reality would be a very small amount, less than a 1/16 of an inch. Just driving empty/not towing and easy driving so hard to say what it would do if it had a load behind it for oil consumption. So far very impressed with the very minimal oil usage.
