What are you putting the 351M in ?  Had one in a 77-1/2 F-250 4 wheel drive. Ran a Crane Econopower cam with adjustable push rods and the stock 2 BBL Motorcraft carb with some wicked advance on the distributor. With 4.10 gearing and 36 in Grad Prix tires that lightweight surprised lots of folks.
Many say they are junk but it is a 351 with the option of the 400 crank, larger mains, and a extra inch in stroke. So naturally aspirated 600hp+ and then little 250 shot. In a super light weight big tire 1965 shelby cobra roadster. Weight 2300ish. Power to weight it is low 9 second even high 8 but short wheel base and limited traction. Also tracks kick them out. So fun street car.

I wish. Just a 352.

I've built some fairly wicked 352's. Better motor than it gets credit for.

I’m keeping it stock for now. It has been rebuilt already some years ago. Super clean inside the motor though. It’s also a 4 door, but should make a great family cruiser. f0b08f293310131fad88c89d3d33cd58.jpg

Equals 1FunCobra !!  Enjoy !

The truck pulled great up to around 3500-4000 RPMs  but with the profile of a brick and the restriction in air flow caused by the Motorcraft 2 BBL, stock air cleaner, and functioning EGR valve pushing the pedal much further had limited returns. It was fun in the mud !

Ok, so I haven't actually done this yet but I figured I'd update since it's been a while since I was around.

Updates made recently

Purchased bushwacker fender flares and had them line-xed. I do not like the fender flare look, but with the BDS lift and wheels being slightly more offset than stock, in addition with the additional 1.5" from the knuckle I got flagged and didn't pass inspection in NH. I planned to do the fender flares but I'm honestly unsure how I like them. I'm going back and forth. It was installed in a non-permanent manner, meaning I didn't drill additional holes, so I should be able to remove if I hate them and go find a more lax inspection station.

Also upgraded to black bolts on my method NV wheels. The zinc that comes with the wheels started to rust and I wanted to black them out anyway. I tried to paint the zinc ones I had, but after a fair amount of time messing around with cleaning the rust and zinc off and losing two due to wind (attached to a piece of cardboard that got picked up) I gave up and bought the powdercoated ones from Method. Plus side they should last longer since they are powdercoated.

Upgrades coming in soon!

Just purchased some slotted coated rotors and EBC green stuff brake pads. Assuming this weekend is another weekend that is too hot to hunt I'll be installing and taking a few photos of how she looks now.

Also looking at picking up a bull bar and some lights for the fall/winter shooting times. I need to get my full plan in place for doing the aux switches and getting everything mostly factory. I want to install some IR lights and a kill switch for the exterior/interior lights for while driving off road under NVGs. Maybe @pgamboa can give me some idea at how to make that happen since he is such a wiz with the electronics :)

Have you seen the Rough Country flares? I think they will be what you are looking for, could be wrong, who knows? I have the smooth style on my truck, no drilling required, no holes in my truck.

IR lights, just mount them as normal, you can also get a remote search light like I have, that has a remote control. It has a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug, or hardwire of you like. I can't remember if it is just shy of 360°, or just over. Or also swivels up and down. It has a suction cup mount, or a base with magnets on the bottom, that locks the unit in. It has a push button release so you can leave that bar mounted, and remove the light when not in use. I tested it with the base at highest speeds with no problems at all.

I like your flares, with the amount I just spent on them I'm gonna leave what I how, for now at least. Great looking truck btw.

I'm not sure I follow the IR lights thing.

Thanks I didn’t know they now have a powder coated option. Actually I shouldn’t thank you cause now I’m going to spend more money I don’t really need to... ?

    • I Wouldn't Know Where to Begin    Oh I know where I would begin but I'm just one of over eight billion people on this rock. Eight billion versions of where the goal post is. How large it should be. How far to kick from. What ball is the right ball. Elevation. Age.....are you getting the point? It isn't about disagreeing with one individual. It's about agreeing only with one individual. One's self.   Agreement comes when multiple people hold the same point already. THAT is the goal of an education. Building the Social Contract. That thing that allows us to all read this sentence. We've agreed on the alphabet and how to arrange those letters into words we agree upon whose meanings hold true for everyone entering into that contract. Those words arranged into a sentence form an idea and several sentences strung together in a paragraph convey an argument for or against or inform the reader of a state, condition or perhaps reveal a things nature. Paint a word picture. Make oneself known.    This contract is not limited to words although they are often explained by words. Things like numbers and their usefulness. Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Music, Art and so on.    The frequency of middle C (C4) is 261.63 Hz. We build on that to make music we all can enjoy even if we all can not compose or play. You don't have to master it to make it enjoyable and useful.    So why is the Beginning so difficult? Why is agreement so elusive?   Everyone "Signs" the contract (when receiving that education in obtaining it)  but fewer and fewer in this world have any intention of living by that contract. They find exploiting that contract more advantageous. Disruption. With intent. Without intent. In Ignorance. In your face. With a double dog dare you. With a hold my beer. In resistance to that contract and in spite how it looks on us. It permeates the very air we breath.    In this way the contract is subject o advantage. Abide by it when it serves you, disregard it when it doesn't. Unpredictable and self-serving. Corrosive.....Toxic........   It says a lot about a persons character to disregard the contract, the truth, first principles. None of it good.        ********************************************************   https://medicine.yale.edu/news-article/character-vs-personality-who-we-are-and-who-we-aspire-to-be/   Just an interesting article.
    • It costs $5,250 for the Yukon Nightfall option (black wheels, emblems and illuminated black GMC grill badge). What a "deal".
    • I keep getting the above error message on my 25 Sierra.  If I reset the infotainment unit (via the phone hang up button) it will work again for a day or 2.   But I dont want to do have to reset  all the time. Works fine in my 2023 Corvette. On both vehicles I connect wirelessly.   I have a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, phone is up to date.  Any Ideas.  See attached
    • LOL, its thrown a few people because this item is being talked about in the gas part of the HD forum. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put a very brief wording in your profile with the year/GM or Chev/2500 or 3500/ and yes the 6.6 Duramax. When I joined this forum I could see the confusion ensuing for my own truck unless I had it listed with my chosen name handle unless one has a few vehicles that apply to a GM forum as that becomes confusing as well. Anyway its all good, makes for a little forum excitement 😉
    • Gasgacinch, James Gaskets. Good stuff. High tac to help hold the gasket in place while assembling parts. Fills minor surface imperfections. Slightly elastic. Gasoline / coolant / oil proof. Very handy stuff. Nothing like RTV.
