06 Sierra remote door lock module

Hey,

I'm trying to program a new remote for my 06 sierra (just bought it and it didn't come with any remotes). Obviously the programming instructions are very simple but I'm guessing the door lock module in the truck may be bad. I hold the unlock button while cycling the key twice and before I let go of the button, the locks cycle twice (horn beeps as well), then a few seconds later the locks cycle again.

Does anyone know how to diagnose what the problem might be or why it won't go into programming mode? Is it possible I'm missing some piece of hardware? The previous owners said it didn't have remotes but I find that hard to believe in a 2006 truck..

Thanks,

Seth

Check the white sticker in the glove box. If it doesn't have code AU0, Then the truck does not have keyelss entry, If the code is there then something may be wrong.

I remember when I picked up new fobs off of ebay and did the programming ordeal, I had a couple of times where It seems I had the same issues or very similar. I think you have keyless entry as your truck is trying to do something... Make sure you have good batteries in your fob and make sure your not trying to get it into programming mode with the drivers door open. )Open doors will effect the programming as the ignition sequence typically ends with the drivers door opening and not just the ignition key switch.

The directions for programming your fobs is funny at best and you may have to walk away for a bit and try again later from frustration. But once you get what your messing up on, its not bad. Good luck!

It doesn't look like I have the AU0 code so I assume that's the problem.. Would that be a simple part to install? It already has power locks.
