GMC or chevy

Even if the gmc's didn't have headlight issues I would've put a hid kit in anyway. I have no issues w lighting up the road. A 60k truck should have HIDs from the factory.

Head lights on the GMC are good after the new bulbs and bcm update.

I must have the new headlights in my 2015 All Terrain. I have no problem seeing at night. They are the same or if not better than my '05 Silverado.

And I also don't know if my high beams work, bc I have never used them. I use the fog lights, but never feel the need for the high beams.

And I live out in the country, no street lights around.

First time gm truck buyer here. Had an 2004 F150. I went for the better looking one , so the gmc it was. Now that doesn't mean the chevy looked bad , cause I really liked the chevy too. But the chevy front reminds me too much of the ole 94 front clip.

Also went for the better deal

Same exact trucks....

Get the truck that looks better to you. I went with GMC because I didn't want 4 headlights and because I thought the grille looked better and tougher. I also wanted the 20" wheels and at the time, the dealer didn't have any chevy trucks with 20" wheels.

The headlights have been fixed on the sierra's. I love mine, two of my buddies have Silverado LT's I have a Sierra SLE, my Sierra has a few more features than their Chevy's do such as soft touch dash & chrome window sills but, w/ that said I'd be game for a Chevy if the deal was right, I do prefer my GMC if price is the same.

I preferred the GMC front end more than the Chevy, but that's about the only thing that led me to GMC. I like the nostalgic front clip on the chevy, but its something I enjoy seeing coming and going, not necessarily living with every day. Haven't noticed any issues with the lights.

Both have soft dashes just depends on the trim for both. Also chevy had chrome door trim as well.

As above, same truck at respective trim levels. Was looking at a HC, but hated the brown-only interior. Traded the hate for the HC's interior to get over the Denali's PITA to clean grille. I am happy with the choice overall though, as the name "Denali" turns more heads than the name "High Country" due to brand recognition, which should help resale value down the road.

Oh com'on, the grill isn't a PITA to clean, it is a PITA to DRY though. Damn, so many holes...

My LTZ has both.

Seriously... want to spec your LTZ against my Denali? Those trims do not compete. Base vs Base, LT vs SLE, LTZ vs SLT, HC vs Denali.

Buy what you like more, and you get a deal you are happy with. If you dont like Sierra styling, dont buy it, if you do like it more, and it is going to cost you $500 than a similarly equipped Silverado, then you have to decide, how much will you pay for styling. Because almost everything available on on one is on the other. It is not only about the deal, it is about your preference.

I am not sure if anyone is having an issue with HC leather (yet), but brown leathers do have a nasty habit of absorbing blue dye from jeans and discoloring (and that color will never come out). My dealer told me they have had complaints about the light leather in Sierra's having this problem (which is a lighter shade than HC leather), I had the issue in my 2005 TL, which had "Camel" leather, which from my memory, is pretty similar to HC color, but that was obviously a different brand car and likely different leather. However, not wanting it to happen again, made me want black leather, not a brown/tan leather, which meant HC was out for me, and so was any Denali with the lighter leather.

Put the ruler away... He stated clearly that he had a couple of features they didn't and pointed out that he had an SLE and they had LT's. No is claiming that something like the LTZ and a Denali package are on par with each other.

No one comparing an LTZ to a Denali, but who would want a wannabe Escalade with a hideous exterior anyway? Mechanically, they're identical roll off the same lines with only minor variations in trim.

The nice thing is there are choices and you can buy which ever one suits your personal tastes.

The Silverado front clip looks way better than the GMC with its dumb fishmouth grille. The GMC headlights also look stupid and apparently have the crappy performance to go with their crappy look!

Also, the current GMC logo is a$$. The letters are too close together and compared to GMC logos of the past it leaves a lot to be desired. Don't even get me started with the Denali owners-- they pay even more of their hard earned money on a stupider looking grille.

That said, the Sierras are still sweet trucks even with their stupid looking front ends. I just like dogging GMC owners for their obvious inferior taste to Silverado owners!

Now thats funny! Ive driven nothing but Chevys but almost bought a GMC when the 2014s came out. But I REFUSE to drive any thing with those stupid "Christmas tree" lights that border the head lights. I have thought they looked stupid ever since I think Audi came out with them. Now EVERYTHING has them! I can just about promise the next Chevy will have 'em since the Tahoe and Sub"s have 'em. But other than that, same trucks basically. Just comes down to personal taste. Im on my third 2014 and I don't know what I'll buy next.

Personally I think the GMC looks like it has Down Syndrome. Sorry if I offend anybody

Had a 2014 LT Z71 Silverado, have a 2015 SLE Z71 Sierra:

Differences I've noticed:

1. Soft touch dash

2. plastic trim lining wheel wells

3. red lights in dash not blue

4. chrome trim on windows

5. dash inserts aluminum not plastic

6. Little chrome Z71 emblem, not big sticker

So, basically small cosmetic touches. The truck seems pretty much the same. I would say at the LT/SLE trim level the GMC is a nicer interior. Liked the Chevy headlight setup more, but I haven't had any issues with the Sierra lights yet. I think I like the GMC front clip more personally, but my son liked the Chevy.

Prefer either to Ford.
