I’ve seen a couple on Craigslist with close to 150k as well, I want to hear from owners getting close to 200k and what their maintenance intervals looked like.

I bought mine the last day of November last year. It was a 2017 that they were moving out as the 2018s were coming in. I just rolled over to ~24,000 miles, It makes me sick that I drive this much back and forth to work just about every day. Its 108 miles round trip. Thank God I have off every other Friday.

 

No problems at all with the truck during that time. I sometimes whish I had bought the LTZ Z71 but I did get the ALL Star Package with upgraded electronics, towing and locking rear with 3.42 gears. I also bought a V6. It has been amazing on gas doing that commute and I'm very happy with the performance. This is coming from a guy that has driven Corvette for over 25 years. I'm definitely a Chevy guy for sure. Maybe next year move up to a 2500 Duramax to tow a travel trailer I want.

I traded my 02 Z06 for an 07 Sierra. My Z had about 75k miles on it and had been driven every day, rain, sleet, snow, whatever.

 

Glad to hear the truck is serving you well. The truck was a much better ride for a long commute which is what I was doing at the time of the trade. I did take a hit on gas mileage going from the Z to a truck.

I too am looking forward to hearing some 200k mile stories. I think if anyone on here can do it based on their maintenance practices, FL355 is going to be the one to do. He has some strong maintenance practices.

For now... But don't bank on it forever.  Many of us former die hard chevy guys have been let down by GM enough times that we will be happy to explore our options when it comes to finding another vehicle.  Loyalty doesn't mean anything in this day and age.

Yeah, I sold my 2003 50th Anniversary Convertible so I could buy the 2017 Silverado - I have owned Corvettes since 1995 and I really don't miss it. I love the Silverado, its utility and all the comfort for driving to and from work.

143,000 miles and around 3060 hours. Won't be putting as much mileage on my Sierra now. Just started a new job that provides a work vehicle.

This thread has made me happy. I've had 2 NBS trucks that went well over 300k miles mostly trouble free. My biggest concern about the 14 I bought is that it wont compete in the long run.

I hope you are wrong. I do however keep up with the maintenance. My 14 has had the condenser and radiator replaced under warranty. I could have done both of those items if I had not had warranty. I'm not too worried about it giving me problems. I have been one that trades pretty regularly. This one I hope lasts me another 5 years.

My 16 has 62,000 on it. Purchased at 21,000. I do love the way the truck drives and tows. It looks good and is very quiet on the inside. Informant is good and the radio sounds nice (especially like carplay). I just serviced the transfer case and the fluid looked like old motor oil. Next up is transmission/axles/coolant. The 5.3 gets great MPG and I love the low end torque of the DI high compression engines.

 

Problems so far:

-Engine tick (fixed by sealing up the boot for the steering column)

-Bad battery at around 25,000

-Display screen going blank (Fixed with 2 software updates)

-Various annoying interior rattles all fixed by me 

-Motor mounts for rough idle

-Going on the 3rd soft tailgate lowering bushing (nothing ever heavy on the tailgate)

-Heater is awful. Can drive 15 miles with it blasting on high/full fan and still not "Hot".

-Shakes from 70-80 mph that I can't get to go away (was smooth as glass when I purchased it)

-Clunks while down shifting (normal symptoms)

-Rotors warped by 40,000

-Noisy steering angle sensor

-Literally cannot get wiper blades to work on it. They shake skip etc. I have stripped the windshield bare and waxed it, rain ex, silicon lube etc.  Adjusted blade angle tried all different brands. I think they got the spring pressure too heavy because it seems to mash down the middle of both of the blades while the ends of the blades shake and skip along. I did squeeze the ends of the arms (fitting where the blade clicks in) tighter which took up lots of play and that did help but I am still extremely unimpressed with the wiper performance. I can't remember any car I have ever owned with fresh blades that I said hmm these suck.

I have a 2014 5.3L with Chevy Shake at 160,000km (100k miles) and a 2015 6.2L with 30,000km (17k miles). Other than being a WT spec beater with the shake, the 5.3L has been a good truck, I haven't put a dollar into it. 

 

My 6.2L had multiple software updates, a new torque converter, now a reman 8L90e and now some jack@$$ destroyed my bumper with a sailboat at the fuel pumps and I have to wait 3 months to get it in a body shop to replace it.

I'm happy I was able to keep my '03 Z06 alongside my '15 GMC Sierra.....sad thing is the Z06 is 10x more reliable & better built than my loaded to the gills 6.2 SLT truck....electronic gremlins & panel gaps aside, you can tell somebody actually "gave a sh*T" when they were designing and manufacturing the Z vs. the Sierra.

 

I have 57k on my '15....paid it off recently, I can guarantee I wouldn't have done that & would've just traded it in on something else if it was a '16-'18 w/o the 100k powertrain warranty....main reason I kept it. In that mileage span its gone through multiple lifters/injectors/fuel rails, starter, tranny TSB's for flash & new fluid/filter, radio/touch screen goes haywire randomly, they all shake to some degree, just had a front bearing go south, leaky 3rd brake light, etc. etc. I'm definitely missing some of the issues they all kinda blend together @ this point......

 

My only hope is that it goes another 80-100k without leaving me stranded a 2nd time & without me having to put any sort of big $$$ into keeping it running other than fluids/brakes/tires. I just want low maintenance/cost for a few years while I focus on saving money & paying my mortgage down. WILL NOT get another 1/2 ton pickup again, the only TRUCKS the big 3 seem to make are HD's, these are glorified soccer mom mobiles w/ a bed in the back. A work colleague just got a new F150 lariat thing stickered for nearly $70k bahahahhahhaha

 

You know what else $70k could buy? Hell, about $45k? I'm pretty sure I could get custom built full blown K Blazer restomod w/ all the goodies that'd be more reliable, less headaches, & more fun to drive than a new loaded mall truck.

How many miles are you at now? I am guessing you have gained quite a few more, hopefully trouble free miles.

I just rolled 69,000 on my 2015 nht, 6.2, 8spd. Two transmission rebuilds and umpteen reprograms, and getting a new engine next week for a dropped valve when a spring broke! I love my truck!!!!! I’m just glad I had the 100k drive train warranty.

Hard to beat driving the company car.

 

I am hoping to keep my truck around another 5 or so years. So driving something else is saving the truck for later.

    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?   
    • Do you think this width might affect the chalk test with a higher pressure closer to 65psi? I think lowering the pressure makes sense to get the tread to lay flatter
