General Motors is involved in trials all over the country related to the faulty ignitions switch issue. These are on top off the settlements GM has made. To try to bring some closure, the courts are looking for bellwether cases that can be used as a guide for settlements between GM and the many plaintiffs. One early case brought by attorneys for Robert Scheuer of Oklahoma, was tossed out on its first day of proceedings today. This after GM's lawyers presented some evidence the judge determined that Mr. Scheur and his wife had lied about the case.

ABC News reports that "...Scheuer, a mail man, had a two-decade history of surgeries and pain medication prescriptions for spinal issues. He also said two calls to Scheuer's cellphone messaging system from his phone contradict his claims he was unconscious for three hours after the accident." Mr. Scheure's lawyers did not dispute the claim by GM.

I was reading on this last night. GM has some serious lawyers with some serious investigating powers to find out all about that guy.
