Goodbye WeatherTech, Hello Husky

I have Weathertechs up front and i too have thought about switching to the Husky X-act contours. My issue with the WTs is the passenger side liner slides around and both liners channel water out the side over the door sill rather than hold the water so you can dump it out. It creates quite the mess. My only concern with the Husky liner is that the sides don't cover up as much of the side by the center console as the WT. Seeing that i paid as much as i did for the WTs new, i might just suck it up and go with the Husky' for my next vehicle.

WeatherTech where much better than just the old flat mats when they came out.,

Husky and others followed but improved on the WT shotfalls.

 

Weathertech is just now mass marketing and has not bothered to improve their mats.

 

The Husky mats simply fit better and protect the carpets better.

I can't wait for the husky xact liners to get here. I was getting tired of the way the weathertechs fit and just today noticed that I have worn threw some of the coating on them! It's only been 14 months!

Mine have done the same thing in less than a year. I use to have weathertechs in older truck and they were fine..but the ones now are wearing and the edges are folding over badly.... going to try husky next

Well my OCD just got the best of me. I am sick of my door sills looking like someone puked all over it because the WTs flow muddy, melted snow out the door then containing the water. I pulled the trigger on a set of the Husky Contours. Found them on Amazon for $90. Thanks OP for this thread, wasn't planning on spending more $$...

I've used both brands, the techs always seemed too slick to me if it was rain/snowing. Good choice on the huskys! I run the huskys up front and the weathertech in the rear.

 

Edit* forgot to mention the Huskys are on their 3rd winter and holding strong, carpet looks like new still! This is a pic from this evening.

Excellent video! My son and I both have the Husky X-Act contour liners. I've read a lot of complaints about the Weathertechs on this forum, but your video captures the exact problems with the fit of the WT's in the K2 trucks.

 

After seeing this video we definitely made the right choice.

Thank you! I liked the extra protection the weathertechs had. I really like the feel of the Husky X-acts more than the weathertechs. If anyone has any ?s or wants more detailed photos comparing them just let me know.

I decided to modify my oem ones to cover up that missing spot under the pedal. I was on the fence about cutting out the door sill pieces and adding them. But in the end, I like having the z71 door sill protected as well. I was also thinking about harvesting some pieces from the rear liner from underneath the front seats, but after thinking more about it, I decided to get my old cargo mat out and cut a piece from it. Not done yet as I have one more piece to glue up the side. But once that's done, I'll paint it black to help it blend in. And then once it all gets dirty, it shouldn't be as noticeable. But in the end, I was more concerned with the carpet protection over the looks in that one corner.

I have 60k and 30 months on my Husky Liners. They were made in the USA and I like the texture of them better, not so plastic, more rubber-ery. They are holding up great. I wear red wing boots almost everyday and I'm not getting heel wear spot I've gotten in other vehicle mats. I got the entire set, front and rear. I know two other guys at the job site with Husky's too and we all love them. I had weather-techs in my F250 and Tacoma... fit nice, but I'm much happier with the Huskys.

My weathertech did the same thing. I emailed weathertech with pictures. They did offer money back.

Anyone know if Husky can be used in with the vinyl flooring? The weathertech says theirs are not recommended for vinyl flooring but I can find if huskys can be or not.
