Ding in chrome grille surround

While i was installing my grille insert i accidentally dropped my grille onto a tool and it dinged/dented a small piece of the chrome grille. Was wondering if anybody knew of any type of repair that i could do to remedy this. It is pretty indented and i don't want this to start getting rusted from water getting underneath the chrome. I am planning to wrap it in vinyl so something to smooth it out might also be an option so that when its wrapped the dent wouldn't be noticeable. Thanks.

Is the part that is dented on the aftermarket grill or part of the original grill?

If it's part of the aftermarket grill, you could call your credit card company and make a purchase protection claim if you paid with CC. I was installing a brake line on my Harley and it got pinched and compromised the shielding. I called AMEX and within 2 days my claim was approved and I was refunded.

If you're going to be wrapping it in vynl and are not too concerned about the paint, maybe you can get a wooden blocks and a hammer and try and flatten it out so when you wrap it you won't notice.

the good news is it's chrome plastic so it won't rust. The bad news is you'l have to replace the grille

it's part of the original grille. And if replacing is really my only option I don't think i could warrant the 475$ replacement for a small ding, guess I will just have to live with it. Hoping it will be slightly less noticeable when its covered in black gloss vinyl apose the the chrome. Any thoughts on using an epoxy to try and smooth out the area before it gets wrapped?

If it's plastic maybe you can heat it up and try to mold it back, or sand and fill with something such as the epoxy you mentioned. Once you wrap it you'll never notice.
