Got my Z36 rotor and pads kit yesterday in the mail. Installing this weekend - excited to feel the difference. FYI - my stock rotors are slightly warped at 70k miles. Only really feel it when braking hard, but it's what got me to look into the Z36 kit.

I think the stock brake setup was quite good for a truck, but I also agree a number of higher speed "pseudo panic" stops on the highway from traffic backing up as the miles climbed has definitely taken its toll on the rotors. I was hoping a heavier duty pad like these designed w/ towing in mind would hold up better overall & so far I am impressed.

Glad to hear you're impressed. Mine is definitely from the "pseudo panic" stops on the highway, so I don't really fault the stock rotors. Overall mine have done well for stock, but I also haven't done any major towing (just a trailer with furniture once). Real test will be my car trailer when I haul the Jeep...

After a rear pad wear mishap, i just replaced all 4 corners with the z36 kit.

Great quality as others have said.

Things to keep an eye for:

- Check your parking brakes - use them periodically. Mine werent used almost never and shoes looked great but the hardware that pushes them out was completely frozen/rusted.

Had to remove it from the parking cable and grind off rust and soak them. Put on all new springs and powerstop shoes.

- Check your pads yearly. Take wheel off and check both side. My rear right inner pad was metal to metal while outer pad had about 40% left. Same with front left, inner was so bad that the rotor surface got damaged pretty bad, right side had about 60% life left.

Now that i invested a decent brake upgrade, i will be checking things once a year to avoid future problems.

I have always trusted and had great results with AUTOZONE Duralast Max Brake pads.

Have them on my Sierra, the wife's Altima and my old Taurus daily driver.

Plenty of grip, very Low wear and virtually dustless.

Very impressed for around $50 a set.

I’m running the z36 tow package kit on my 02  1500.   Absolutely no surface rust in 6 months or so if driving and they perform great!  My stock calipers we’re toast and this kit seemed like a good replacement for the money

Old tread, but same topic I was Googling.  Just got my Z36 kit installed on Monday.  I broke them in while at the shop the best I could, then of course on the way home, which included highway and city driving.  On my 4th day with them putting about 200 miles on them so far and they seem to be getting better and better as far as stopping power/bite.  I can definitely tell a positive difference between the OEM step I had versus these Power Stops.

The weather has been dry for the most part so we'll see how she does in the rain, which is expected probably on Sunday.
