My new '19 Tahoe is going to be Siren Red with the black leather interior, the Mrs, didn't want the mahogany.... the sales manger said this will be the first red one he has sold, most go for black or white.....it has yet to be built, Feb 4 is the date, so when I get her I will pop a pic on....nothing special other than she will be mine...

Let’s see that picture once you get it! I don’t think you can go wrong with any colour but red does have that fire chief appearance to it ?

HA! Never thought of that, maybe I should snag a light bar and that will help me get to the front of the line!! LOL!!!  They tell me that I 'should' get it late March.....

I saw a red special order Tahoe at a dealership once and it actually looked pretty nice. Somebody has a red Suburban in my neighborhood, and you can't miss it. I think fire truck whenever I see it! LOL

I think bull/nudge bars are a surfire way to make your Burb look like a service vehicle  I've seen a few throughout the week and I figured

Black: Police/FBI vehicle

Red: Fire Department

White: Paramedic

GMC Yukons are rare as service vehicles but there's an overflowing amount of Uber/Taxi drivers with Black Yukons.

I think I'm down to shadow grey/white Suburban or Black/dark sky metallic Yukon XL

The shadow greys and dark sky metallic is growning on me (especially de-chromed) but they sure are rare!

From reading the comments I think a brown interior would be the way to go.

Their job is to rip people off I guess. I'll most likely have a bottom line in mind and won't take the car otherwise. I can get 3% financing at my local bank so I won't be getting caught in their loan/finance tricks. I won't be too particular if the price is right. Thanks for the tip though

Be open to financing, sometimes the dealer can get you a better rate. It is best to have your financing in line, so you know what type of rate you should be able to obtain, but an honest F&I person will "shop" your contract, and can some times beat your rate. Plus is you take the rebates (if available) and incentives you might actually be financing less with a higher rate, so take the loan, then refinance with your bank at the lower rate. Lots of ways to make the situation work best for you.

Missed the window for that unless you're not particular at all. Right now, if you can find a 2018 sitting on a lot somewhere, $12k off MSRP might be doable, but would depend on the dealership and how badly they want to get rid of it. I think I got around $8-9k off MSRP on mine, bought in November 2018, early in the "model year closeout" window.

I found the Blue Velvet one I mentioned above advertised at $12k off MSRP or something crazy, but didn't have the right options. But heck, for that much off I could live with it. As soon as I asked about it, the dealership raised the price by like $3k, and then refused to honor the original advertised online price, and acted like I was crazy when I pushed them on it, so stupid dealership games too.

Beware of all of the stupid catches and gotchas. We'll give you xxxx off, but only if you finance at our rip off rate when you could do so much better privately financing, etc, and other ways they'll try to "help" you. My dealership was pretty slick in trying to rip me off, but didn't fall for their stupid games and they were pretty pissed off when I left. LOL

Price on line was an ad leader, by law they just had to have had that VIN on the lot at sometime. You can refinance a car loan at any time, so it does not hurt to look at what they are offering. More rate, less loan, take it and refinance with your bank, now you have less loan and your rate.

There was an extra $1500 on the hood of the truck if I financed through GM when buying, but their rates were way higher, and by the time I re-financed with my own bank after 3 months or whatever the minimum was, the rates for financing a now used car were higher than the rates for a new car such that there was no point and just wasn't going to work out.

They were actually advertising $14k off MSRP on this one Suburban I looked at. MSRP $76k, advertising at $62k. It was clearly a special order that somebody didn't take delivery on. I actually test drove the truck and decided to think about it, but when I called them back later in the day to say I'd take it and work out numbers, they wouldn't honor the price they had advertised it at, and also wouldn't come even remotely close and laughed at me like I was nuts, so I walked. Was a nice looking truck, though!

I'm sure that "rate" included the Air Force Veteran Discount, College Graduate Discount, Spicy Salsa regional incentive, Lease loyalty allowance, Northeastern Recycling Union discount, Sawdust credit, 2012+ GM trade bonus, Oregano Growers cash, etc.

That's funny, you should never mix the Spicy Salsa incentive with the Sawdust credit, because you will regret it the next day in the bathroom!

Most cases you can refinance almost immediately and the rig is still considered new by the lender. Beauty part of buying a car, is you have no legal obligations until you sign paperwork, and if the dealership treats you poorly, there are plenty of others that want your business and will treat you with respect.

Haha!

It's true though, especially with online listings and places like Autotrader.com. I had a car guy friend help me when looking for Suburban deals, every single one of them in the lowest quartile of price comparably equipped was full of these discounts most people don't qualify for or are lease related. Don't even get me started on Michigan vehicles, which almost always include employee pricing discounts.
