This might be a slightly random question, but it does pertain to the badges.

Does anyone know if the '14-'18 GMC badges are the same size as the '19-'20?

Looking at American flag overlays and haven't been able to find them for my '20.

The amazon and ebay review sections indicate they are different sizes and spacing, and won't fit across those model years. The font looks ever so slightly different too.

Firstly, Thank you for this, you saved me a lot of time.  But I have a small request  -Can you better explain the best way to clip them back in?  The G sounded like it clipped in, the M didn't sound like it, but seems to be OK, and the C can slide in and slide out (It's not clipping in).  Where are you applying pressure to clip them in...from under the hood with the hood popped?  A huge storm is about to hit my area, and I can't fit in front of the truck with the garage door shut to try to finagle this to clip in, at the moment.  Hope to get a response so I can clip it in first thing tomorrow morning.   I appreciate your help.

I also had a really hard time getting some of the clips on the tops of the letters to click. But I figured out a good way to do it, so I figured I’d share. I stuck my hands through the grill at the spots I highlight in the picture and run my hand behind the grill as far as I can get. Then feed a flathead screwdriver through the grill to my hand,  and use that to get the clips to click. Word of caution: don’t drop the screwdriver. I have average sized arms and didn’t have any problem doing it this way.

Hey all,

I installed the OEM black GMC letters on my AT4 this weekend and thought I would pass this shortcut along.  If you don't mind being a bit destructive and want to take the easy route - just pry the red insert off of the factory emblems and it exposes the retaining clips.  Insert a screw driver and they pop right off.  No grill removal required.  I had one or two tangs that didn't immediately snap back in on the new emblems.  apply a bit of pressure to the grill tab with either your finger or a flat blade screw driver from behind until it clicks.  You are good to go.

This was the single best hack I have found for anything in months! Removal & install was 10 minutes. Caveat - I broke the skinny part of the "C" by sheer force. If you want to resell or save, be forewarned to be careful. Even though you "break" the red insets away, I'm sure you could super glue them back in if your careful. Thanks!!

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
