Did you ever figure out the root cause? Was it a geometry issue?

Not sure if is geometry or the supplier. While having my arbitration with the lawyer the BBB chose to mediate my case with GM asked the guy from GM on speaker phone if they had a real fix for it or not and if yes when. The GM guy said they do not have a permanent fix and said they had no time frame to give as to when they would but GM engineering was aware of the issue and would “eventually” come up with a permanent repair. At that time the lawyer looked up at me and rolled his eyes and at that moment I new I was going to win the case. My feeling is it was a supplier issue not making a good part or maybe the parts were out of GM spec.

So my lawyer calls me on Wednesday to go over some things with me about my case. Says he hasn’t heard from gm yet so they are reaching out to them. Friday, I get a call from my dealership saying the shop manager has been in touch with an engineer and they had parts to fix my front differential. I find that kind of weird I get a call two days later. Anyway, I doubt it’ll fix it since I’ve had everything done including new differentials and nothing has fixed it. Figured sure I would have more work done. I also have the two recalls and my crappy blacked out radio they could attack again. It’ll only help my case. I’ll keep you posted with the latest

GM did the same thing to me in October said they had new parts available. The dealer said the “new” parts GM sent were exactly the same part numbers as the parts they put in in July that didn’t fix the issue at all.  So the dealer refused to install them. Don’t hold your breath.

Hahahaha. Believe me, I’m definitely not holding my breath on any fixes with gm. So far every issue I’ve had with my truck has not been fixed with exception of brake pad life monitor that was fixed with software. I’ve continued to have all the issues plus new ones. Can’t wait to get rid of it and hopefully have luck with a new one

I'm with you...parts have been ordered for the axle issue since October.  I have zero confidence the parts will fix the issue if and when they do come in. meanwhile I'm at 5000 miles and the junk transmission only seems to be getting worse. Bad vibration and shutter now, along with hesitation, surging, hard down shifting and slamming into gear. Dealerships says it has the new transmission fluid in it and they don't feel nothing? Whatever.... I have not heard from my GM advisor since October, they could careless. very poor customer service. Well at least the thing has been starting for me now it must have fixed itself because they could not find a cause for that issue.I have been GM truck owner my entire life. This is junk.

Does anyone have, or know someone who has the su4 axle with a few miles racked up that does NOT have the jingle. In other words, if we have the su4 axle, do we need to expect it to happen sooner or later, or are some doing fine. Maybe there was a bad run or batch while other su4’s are not affected. No problems with mine, but I don’t have many miles yet either.

Read my review on the 2020 here, It’s definitely a better and improved version for 2020. Good luck to all of you fellow jinglers on getting a resolution. It’s to bad that GM has turned into such  shitty pricks being such a non customer friendly Company now. No one should have to fight a manufacturer to get a vehicle fixed under warranty. If I can help or advise any of you guys through the repurchase process please PM me.

The dealership did the newest fix on my truck about a month ago for the jingle fix. They did the other fix replacing the stub shaft which didn't work. They said there was a difference in the new stub shaft this time compared to the other one. So far after over a month there is no jingle anymore. Seems like the jingle noise was worse when the weather was hot, so it may be spring or summer if I know it worked for sure.

Absolutely more noticeable in warmer weather like 75-80 degrees.

Well in your case if you are upside down if you go with a buyback only you will end up owing the balance of your loan and 100% of the sales taxes on what ever you buy to replace it with. In your case ask for a replacement you can replace it with anything Chevrolet sells as long as it’s at least the same Msrp or higher. You pay only the difference if higher. They will then do a substitution of collateral (trade titles) on your loan with your lender and this way you stay where you are and won’t have to pay the upside down loan off. The way they choose to handle it also depends on your States Lemon Law rules. Message me if you need more.

I have been following this thread and had posted a lot of information here last summer. I have the SU4 axle and my truck now has just under 11,000 miles with no jingle issue. My truck was made late November 2018, is an LT 5.3L. I bought it in April 2019 and have driven in conditions that range from 10 degrees to 90 degrees in Michigan and hadn’t noticed even the slightest jingle.

Well most likely you will have to do the exchange at the selling Dealer but not always again it’s very dependent on your states lemon law rules. If you do an exchange vehicle it must be of equal or more value of the original trucks sticker. They usually go sticker $ to sticker $ value. If the replacement is say $500 more well you will pay the $500 difference. Google your states lemon law and study it good so you familiarize your self with the process. The loan will just be switched to the new vehicle known as a substitution of collateral.
