Internet provider might not have gotten paid after the cost of installing the Borla.

Should’ve used beer cans like the rest of us... ??‍♂️

I can’t imagine spending the $1000 or so on a Borla system just to replace factory stainless steel mandrel bent pipe.

That’s a lot of money for more noise and no performance gains.

You sir had me going. It was a good chuckle. So I crawled my old ass under my truck and noticed that the 6.2 exhaust has 2 of these flapper valves and not screens.

So I just tried this free mod. Absolutely no difference in tone with the 6.2. Looks like I’m gonna have to crack open my wallet

The 6.2's do not have the screens, and I agree, I opened both flaps and there is no noticeable difference in sound.

So I have had a question about the screen blocking.  I'm kinda afraid to ask, because I'm not trying to be a smartass and be partaking in the above argument.  For what it's worth I'm all for cheap mods.  I'd replace or delete a muffler before I paid big money for an aftermarket exhaust system...

So does exhaust flow through the screens everybody is blocking off?  If so, wouldn't blocking the screens off kinda  be restricting exhaust flow?

I would say the exhaust is dispersed/muffled by the screens. By blocking it my guess would believe it’s pushing more direct exhaust out the rear giving a deeper tone. Just a guess

Half assed scientific guestimate but it probably creates some drag/back pressure that does like said above and slows the exhaust gases down.

Anyone knows why GM installed this system in the first place. The flapper doodad sounds like to add restriction and I thought more flow is better?!

Also, does this mod effect mpg?

Thanks!

Sound reduction and I bet the baffles are cheaper than the older resonators.

The flappers are just proof that more people would complain about the occasional odd exhaust noise than would notice the bit of performance loss they cause.
