Does King makes shocks for a stock 2019 Sierra 4x4? I can’t seem to find a fitment guide for them.

Two people I know of that would know about new products. Accutune or Filthy Motorsports. Best I can do sir.

I've spoken to Ben at Filthy Motorsports about the King 2.5's... he's very helpful and puts out excellent informative videos about shocks, UCA's, etc

Bilstein 5100 and 6100 are digressive.

I love my Kings.

Most irregularities in the road are low amplitude. Under 3". If the shock does not give that force is transmitted to the chassis in lift, bounce, step out. The faster you drive the worse it gets.

What a digressive shock does well is control roll axis movement. Just what a truck needs with high bed or tongue loads. Stability. The OEM believes it's either or but there are other ways to control stability. It's just the cheapest.

Digressive valves work GREAT on smooth racetracks and full payloads.

I always learn a ton from your posts Grumpy.

I’m going to be towing a lot more than I originally expected, 6000 lb trailer. You say a digressive shock like Bilstein 5100 would probably be better for this correct?

How would the King 2.5’s do with a decent amount of towing in this regard? Solely wanting that on road comfort over street bumps and then Solid stable safe highway towing. Probably get them “tuned” specifically for this need right? How often will they need to be serviced with this use (no off-roading)?

Would front King 2.5 coilovers and rear Bilstein 5100’s make sense? Or would mixing the linear and digressive not work well

lastly, does anybody know if the 2020 silverados have room in the rear for piggy back reservoir shocks? Like Bilstein 5160 or the King 2.5. Just casually looking doesn’t seem like a ton of room. I might install a Roadmaster active suspension (RAS) on the rear leaf springs and worry if that could impact a remote reservoir if mounted on the frame in the wheel well during a heavy impact

You can use the Bilstein. As far as 'better' it's better than the factory shock.

Accutune would be more qualified to answer this brace of questions.

I've had my Kings on several years now without a refresh. That said I don't tow or haul more than a few hundred pounds. I've had off the self KYB adjustable shocks last 200 K. I would expect nothing less from a shock like King or Fox.

I wouldn't but that said both ends are not tuned the same so again I defer to Accutune

you can have the kings valved any way you want.....if you inform filthy or accutune or any decent suspension co even king directly and tell them what youll be using the truck for they will valve the shock accordingly and its not that expensive.....i think quoted me like $100 ea.....kings are very nice and especially if they are set up properly.....bit expensive but rebuildable, tuneable and just very plush yet still firm.....am sure fox is similar but only ridden in king setups both stock OEM kit and another custom tuned.....also i believe the kings use a linear piston but have progressive valving....

had bilsteins before and they were good but not really in same league as king and or fox.....but still pretty good and for most thats enough and cheaper....

but they can be setup stiffer for trailering if needed

The KING OEM for my 2015 do have a linear piston and are valved 12-flutter-12, a linear stack. I never changed them. If they ever need a rebuild Accutune gets the nod. I am very happy with my setup as is though.

So anyone have any feedback on the bilstein 5100s? Im intrested in these myself and was curious if the 2.5 lift on these is for at4/trailboss trucks or non at4/trailboss trucks

I have them on a High Country not a TrailBoss and they lifted 1.5in on the middle setting(I think). Anyway they are about 20% harsher ride then the stockers but the 70's Caddy front end bounce is gone and they're significantly better towing. Towed about 400 miles this past weekend over CO mountains and the control was MUCH better all around.

There are two different part numbers, one for AT4/Trailboss and one for everything else. I put them on my AT4 and the max for these is 1.1" lift up front.

Where did you get them, what is the AT4/TB part number and how much did they cost?

Thanks
