laqualo Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Hey all . Im a new owner on a 19 Silverado RST 5.3 . I love the truck except for since i took delivery my back is killing me . I test drove it and no issues but the longer i sit in it the worse it is .The pain is not lower back but just a hair above . I had a 11 Denali sierra with no issues then a SRT Jeep that killed my back as well . I really thought switching back to a truck would be better . If anyone has recommendations it would be much appreciated .
FiatDale Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 See a chiropractor. Most likely it’s not the seat, it’s your body. May not be the answer you want, but it’s probably what needs to be checked out. 6
Snuff Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I have the RST z71 5.3 with 5.3 and do not have a problem. I have 4,000 miles on my truck and drove 8 hours 2 days in a row. I do take my wallet out of my pocket as my sciatic nerve in my butt cheek hurts from time to time for years. I find the lumbar is great. I agree with FlatDale above. Go see a chiro or get a good deep tissue massage. 1

MacLaren Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) My back never felt so good driving anything to be honest. I love the lower power lumbar support the Silverado has. I hope it gets better for ya hoss. Edited September 4, 2019 by MacLaren
TXGREEK Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Wear a thin undershirt, if that doesn’t help, get your back waxed [emoji6]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 3
redwngr Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Sometimes the seat position you think should be good isn't the one that makes the back feel happy. Experiment a little. If the truck is empty all the time, and you're running the pressures on the door sticker, try reducing them. Especially the rears. If it's got 20's on it, find a set of 18's. Higher sidewalls aren't as stiff as the short ones.
eppieguy Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I have a bad back and go to the Chiropractor every other week. My back doesn’t feel any better or worse driving this truck. As others have suggested try changing the seating position and position of the steering wheel, you’ll hopefully find a spot where everything feels right.

Really bothered me when getting up for the first time, anytime I sat more than a couple hours, especially if there was AC. Started using CBD cream in July, and i'm like a new man. No more pain, except if I stand for a long time, and even that is nowhere near what it used to be. Edited September 5, 2019 by slimjim2525 1

mookdoc6 Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 The K2's are excellent to sit in! I would take more pills honestly!
Donstar Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 All of the above comments have a common theme and that is the truck is not the issue. Get a proper and thorough medical assessment. Back pain is a very broad term and similar symptoms can have very different causes. The medicine or treatment that works for a friend could be ineffective and inappropriate for you. 1
TXGREEK Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 If you read OP’s original post, He said the hair on his back is being ripped off and not that he has actual back pain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
