I forgot to add that just putting it in D and hoping on the highway, the transmission tends to stay in 9th gear at 65-70 MPH for me with the trailer mentioned. The diesel has massive torque at low RPM. It isn't a gasser, you won't hurt it making it work at 1400 RPM.

I'm curious - how do you know it's in 9th gear?  There's no gear number shown when driving in D.

I have a Banks iDash that shows what gear I'm in. I was not referring to the gear selector being in 'L' like the person above said. I always just leave it in 'D'.

Thanks!  I'll have to do a little research on those.

idash (or others) can display what gear it is in.

(and lots and lots of other things to pick from)

I don't believe I drive/operate the truck any different because of it, but i do enjoy seeing the info it can display.

I guess I'm saying they are lots of entertainment, but they are not a necessity.
