Michelin Defenders are going to be some of the best tires out there. Pirelli makes a nice tire too for an all season that is quiet.

Lots of people would say otherwise. Come up to Minnesota where temps get far below zero, tires turn into hockey pucks and are terrible in the snow/ice. It was -18 degrees this morning just for reference.

I'm running Michelin Premier LTX 275/50/22.  These are the best riding quietest tires I've had and I can assure you they will ride better and quieter than any Nitto Grappler.  They balanced out perfect with little weight.

The Premier LTX are a very quiet tire aswell but have terrible tread life compared to the defender. I stopped counting the warranty adjustments for tires a long time ago. We were seeing Yukon's and Escalade's burning through tires in 25,000-30,000 miles.

Continental TerrainContact A/T's are supposed to be really good also. No personal experience with them yet but I'm planning on making them my next set of tires. I don't take the truck off road very much at all but I want something that's functional year round here in Michigan. Also I pull our travel trailer so need something with decent sidewalls...I'm past the point in my life of looks over performance with tires.

I've got the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II. 275/50/22. I like them way better than the Bridgestone Alenzas that came on my 19 Denali. The Alenzas were quiet, but the Pirelli's perform much better for me in every other aspect. Michelin Defenders sound good to me also.

Nitto tires get two thumbs down in snow from this guy from Michigan. Always wondered why they were hyped up,  tried them,  horrible in snow and ice.  Like others have stated you won’t get a better all season tire then the Michelin defender LTX M/S.

Michelin Defender LTX M/S.

Best tire IMO for snow, wet and dry. A little noisy on dry roads but living rural in the mountains wouldn't have any other tire.

You need to come up to the Midwest, mainly Iowa and Minnesota, and the only thing "grappling" will be you to the steering wheel when you really see what snow looks like on the ground!!!  Those tires are not good at all in deep snow! Trust me, I've lived in this weather for 40 years of my life. 

 

I second the Michelin's, my Bridgestone's are ok, but if I keep the truck, those are the tires I'll get

I second that other than the Michelins. I have a set of Continentals on my wife's new Traverse Redline Edition and I can not believe how quiet they are. Amazingly smooth riding too. First snow we had, they did very well also!

I have many friends who say Nitto is garbage. I don't want a set. Too many other good tires out there.

Michelin Defenders all day long for a highway tire.  They do surprisingly well off-road too.
