And they still have not fixed it...

Dealing with a 2014 with vibrations and now seeing more 2015's pop up with the same issues - GM keeps pumping them out and screwing their dealerships with trying to clean it up...

Dealerships probably feel like the clowns with shovels following horses in a parade

Yep....im assuming the 16s will be the same

Mine was way better when they replaced the bent rim several months ago, now I'm wondering if more than one rim was bent. Mine does well up to about 70 mph, then at 78, which I drive nearly 85% of my commute, it shakes off an on, but not always. If I get on the onramp and put the foot down and it's smooth, I actually notice it more than the usual shake. I can notice it in the driver's seat, then I look over and see the passenger seat moving back and forth. Put my hand on the passenger seat headrest and feel the vibration. Next oil change is in about a month, will have to have them go back to the drawing board. It's 75% better than it was before, but still not smooth as silk, in which a $55k truck should be. Grrrrr.

That's exactly it... We didn't pay $50k for trucks to shake like this. Dealers want no part of trying to fix it, but that's part of selling the frigging things like this. If the dealers don't want to deal with it, they can drive every truck they get, and send GM back all the ones that shake.

I have stock 22"s. And have the harmonic vibration buzz most noticeable around 75-85. We have toll roads here with 80 mph speed limits. So thats all I feel

Yep, sounds just like mine. Do you think the dealerships are balancing the 22s incorrectly? The two second-gen tacomas I had were probably the most sensitive trucks I've ever seen to wheel/tires, so bad that when I lifted them I kept the OE wheels and used high quality spacers to make the tires fit. There was a special finger adapter Toyota used to balance their tires via the lug holes, since the wheels were not hub centric. I don't have a vibration in my steering wheel at all, so if it's the wheels or tires it's one or both of the back ones, or it's the driveline somewhere. I have a couple buddies at work that have 2014s with the 17 or 18" alloy Z-71 wheels and they have never said anything about having any vibrations, I wonder how many people with those wheels experience this?

Not sure if they're balancing te 22 s wrong but mine has 20 s with same problem and it started a year later....

Have you ever tried a different set of wheels/tires? Has anyone had the tire slipping on the wheel issue with the 20 or 22s? If your wheels are slipping in the tires that could explain it happening a year after the fact... If that's happening it's really ****ed up though...

This thread has become quite depressing but even more loathsome than anything else. About every 50 pages you have new members discovering their truck is vibrating after a few thousand miles of ownership posting the same problems with the dealerships doing and saying the same thing with little or no resolve and several members on their second vibrating GM POS going through the same dog and pony show. I believe it was Einstein that said "Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." This really needs to hit GM in the pocket book before they will ever take any action. At least after coming here you know you're not imagining things, your 50K dollar truck is really a vibrating POS and NO... it's not likely it will ever be fixed.

I haven't tried different wheels & never marked my tires to check for slipage....

They have no idea what the hell the problem is....they keep having the dealers do the same few things like road force balancing etc instead of really figuring it out on GM s end

They know what the problem is. The problem with getting it fixed is that car companies are ran by business men and accountants that answer to share holders, and the price to fix it has not yet exceeded the price of ignoring it. Like I said until it hit's GM's bottom line they won't do anything. Expect to see 2016 owners on here within the next few months with the same problems going through the same motions.

2016 Yukon XL Denali owner right here (with vibration and pressure/buffeting issues).

I've asked for any folks from LA, Las Vegas or Detroit to let me know. I have pursued quite a few automobile rags/newspapers/online sites and was able to get a response pretty quickly from one of them. He wants to drive one that has both issues (or even just one). He also has contacts at GM that I'd bet no one on here has (through their dealer or not). For as many folks that have issues, I would have thought I could have found at least one owner.

For what it's worth I also created a Facebook group so please feel free to join.

I was thinking of this today. Wait until you have to replace the tires. You will have to do it at a dealership because the road force spec on these trucks is less than what the tire industry spec is. Therefore good luck finding a tire dealer wheeling to swap tires out to find the perfect match. Or should as consumers we force our GM dealers to pay for RF since the Silverado spec is tighter than the tire industry threshold.

    • Hi all,   I just bought a 2021 suburban RST with 88,000 miles on it and everything has been good but I’ve been noticing within the last month or so that there are small electrical things going on and I know what the AGM batteries and all the electric electrical in these big trucks you need to have a constant flow with good voltage   That being said, I bought a new battery thinking that that might have something to do with it but today I went to get in and start it and it said no key found when I had the key right in my pocket   It also proceeded to flash the lights inside and outside for over 30 minutes as I went to disconnect the battery as soon as I touch the negative terminal, I heard the relay reset and everything come back up. I got in the truck and started it no problem.   Anyone else have this happen to them? I’m starting to think it’s the KARR system that the dealer installed short circuit stuff.
    • I don't drive this truck on a regular basis since I have a new company truck with no out of pocket fuel or maintenance cost. Yesterday I got it out to run some errands and got the title message on my DCI. A quick Google search suggested to first clean the Map Sensor. I pulled it out and it was sooty so cleaned it up and reinstalled it. Issue not resolved. My OBDII is a couple years old so didn't see any codes. Today I took it to a friend at AutoZone to get him to check it with his reader. It had the following codes: P20C3 P02BB P221F Stating the most likely solution is to replace diesel emission fluid (DEF) tank assembly.   So, I guess a trip to the dealer is necessary. I read where there was a backorder on these tank assemblies several years ago so hope that has been resolved.
    • Are you using a weight distribution hitch system with your trailer as that alone can change the actual tire pressure requirements needed. It would prove interesting to see what the actual individual axle weights are on your truck when you are hooked up to the trailer. In fact when your hooked to the trailer, typically if anything unless it has a large capacity weight distribution system that is over cranked, often the weight on the front axle will be less when hooked up vs driving empty and certainly if one doesn't have a weight distribution hitch. Really the only times one may get up there with weight on the steer axle is if there was a snow plow mounted on the front or a motorcycle on a rack or with a very large jockey tank full of fuel at the front of the box that transfers a bit of its weight to the front axle.    And of course your tires carry more weight for a given tire pressure due to their size vs a stock sized tire so there is that to take into the equation as well.
    • Great info here thank you. I just joined, we have a 2014 Silverado truck we bought about 4 years ago with less than 5,000 miles on it. It has approximately 24,000 on it now. It appears to have all the standard issues that people are talking about. Occasional charging problems especially using 110 volt, occasional blinking triangle where nothing will turn on when first starting the truck but it will reset itself if you wait 10 to 15 minutes. Noisy coupler between the flywheel and the generator. Our truck is speed limited to 74 mph, is there any way to change that? The latest issue we have been dealing with is when driving long distance on the highway at full speed the generator does not keep the batteries charged. The meter will go into the yellow/red border Zone for charge status and the yellow triangle will illuminate solid but the generator will not keep the battery charged, not sure why the controller doesn't tell the gas engine to increase RPM to increase generator output it usually stays well below 25 kilowatts even though the battery is discharging and I have to slow down the highway to 45 mph and eventually pull over and let the truck idle to charge the battery so I can continue driving at speed. Has anyone had this issue before or have any idea how to diagnosed it? When via Motors was around it they were very helpful at troubleshooting. This becomes much if the Terrain is hilly and you're towing a small trailer
    • I have the GMC accessory (REV) cover installed by dealer. Ordered with the truck.  They did a very good install job, can't find a single issue. Some water gets in around the tailgate but no where else.  You can see daylight around the tailgate but that's not the covers fault.  Installation is means everything. Guys at my dealer were seasoned pros, not inexperienced here today good tomorrow types, like many dealers employ for these jobs.   I don't mind paying for a professional job.
