It's July of 2014 this issue still exists on my Indiana-built 2014 Silverado purchased in March of 2014. My vehicle came from Superior Chevrolet in Decatur, GA and I have taken it in once for FM reception (and frame rust). The service adviser (SA) showed me a TSA stating that the cutting in and out of HD/regular FM reception is normal. I took the vehicle in because when I turn the vehicle OFF often FM reception IMPROVES. I have a YouTube video demonstrating this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xljF6VSvHg.

I encourage everyone to video their FM reception issues with clear evidence of your location. I'm currently video logging my FM reception issues, which include poor FM reception in and around Atlanta where all of my previous vehicles had no issues whatsoever. I will include in the video the highway or street sign that I am near for reference. Each of these videos will be going on YouTube until GM/Superior Chevrolet does something about this.

I cannot listen to Rock 100.5 in the morning because even on I-75 in the heart of the city this station will cut in and out. I've never gotten HD radio reception from this station (I don't know if they broadcast in HD or not). 94.5 will cut in and out of HD radio even within a few mile range of their broadcast tower!

Of course the dealership cannot replicate the problem. Lemon law does nothing for you if the dealer cannot replicate the problem every time you visit them. I will be experimenting around Superior Chevrolet when I get time to be able to demonstrate this issue, but it'd be nice if someone at a dealer didn't throw TSB's in my face and started advocating for the customer to GM. There is no excuse for poor FM reception like this in 2014. "Normal" HD radio and FM reception is not cutting in and out even inside of the city where the radio stations broadcast!

I agree poor radio reception in a 40k+ truck is ridiculous. I'll see if mine improves with the truck off, good find.

I have had the problem with FM reception for ten months. Called GM and got a my issue recorded, made a video for the dealer, taken my truck back to the dealer many times. I believe it is an issue of mind over matter. They don't mind because I don't matter. It is not a safety concern and they do not seem to understand how irritating this is to many of us. Last time I called the service manager to ask about this he did not even return my call.

The fix is in place guys, I have been testing it for almost 2 weeks now. Reception is almost perfect now and the HD switching has stopped.

I will email the engineers tomorrow and see if the repair has been released into the dealer system.

Ok the chief engineer emailed me back this morning. They are finishing up the last part of the validation process. He said they are trying to have the update ready at the beginning of August.

TJay74 thanks for all of your work to resolve our reception problems. You also have a dealer that is willing to work on the problem, could you post the name of the dealer that has been will to work with you. Thanks.

Ferguson Buick GMC in Norman OK is who I have worked with, I have been using them for years and have a great relationship with them.

I'll give e you that. But just an FYI yeah it's legit it takes time for a company to verify and do all their legalize crap on updates like this. Be patience rock a thumb drive and you'll hear when it hits the dealers. Trust me this is the only thing I'm waiting on to make me 100% happy with my truck now that they replaced the bumper.
