So, I've been debating whether I wanted to do the rear bumper step light mod or not. I don't need the additional light for backing up, (I have 2" RC Pods for that purpose) but thought it might be nice for illuminating the step should I need to get into the bed at night. I ended up going ahead and installing 3/4" LED white pods that I tied into the reverse circuit. I did the cargo light / reverse light diode mod a while back, so whenever the cargo lights or reverse lights are on, the step lights will come on. Also added 3/4" LED red outer marker lights and tied them into parking lights.

That looks awesome. I have been going back and forth about types of lights/light pods to go with. I came to the conclusion that I want to go this route as it looks cleaner and doesn’t get in the way of anything. I didn’t think of using red to match the marker lights. I do have a tailgate light bar with reverse lights but still want to do the step lights. Which lights did you use? I found a few different sets of them on Amazon that I just haven’t pulled the trigger on. Again it looks great and thanks in advance.

Hardwired my dash camera and radar detector last night.  No more pesky wires dangling in my field of view and no more having to remember to plug in and unplug the darn camera!

Thanks TX LIMO, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I purchased the LED's from Amazon. Below is a snip of the exact ones I purchased. Thanks again for the compliment.

Finally got around to adding some footwell lighting. Added some white to come on with the dome lights and some red for some accent lighting while driving and hooked both up to a dinner switch so I could control how bright I want them bdeb9fc23a266170fb7190f6bcf7ef62.jpg77d20272e0644a6e35276c9af84b9304.jpg

Does anyone know what the clip goes to? It was in my dashboard by the light switch. I added what my panel has. I’m guessing either trailer brake controls since my 4wd lever in on the floor. I’m hoping it’s brake control so I can buy a new panel and not install an aftermarket one and drill that in.

Edit: forgot to add that the white clip has this written on it. (If it helps)

I wonder if it's for the 4 wheel drive selector switch that's there on LT, LTZ, and HC. Your truck has the shifter on the floor.

Yeah that was my second guess but since its on the floor i didn't think they'd run the wires since i doubt its simple to get rid of the lever set up

Just so you know at this time you can’t add the factory integrated trailer brake controller. It is not plug ang play several have tried none have succeeded... yet...

This thread hase several different controller options other than the standard knee banger set up.

Not a huge thing, but vinyl wrapped the front/rear bowties. My white ‘17 Z71 had the black bow tie package and was one of the few things I enjoyed about that truck, so I figured I’d recreate it but refused to buy actual bow ties.

Do you have any pics of your setup?

I'd go completely insane driving anywhere, following anything for 5 hours at 55-65mph! ?

I've done something similar for my son's high school marching band once but nowhere near 5 hours. It was just a short trip, maybe an hour at most and it drove me nuts! I was a good lane blocker when it came to lane changes for the buses though... LOL

They use the same harness for all the models to cut cost it just isn’t hooked up to the reader same with trucks without the trailer braking
