This setup looks so good. Can you post some more pics? Like some shots down the side and from the front and rear? I've got a set of 20s with 305/55s in my garage but these trucks look so Good with 22s that I'm rethinking my choices.

Thats good to hear. I wonder if 305 45 22s would still rub with my 2" level... when you are at full lock, and rubbing can u see if this looks like it would still be an issue if it was leveled?

 

I believe I've read that others are running 305/45/22s with a 2" level and had no rubbing. I looked last night and I don't see any signs of rubbing anywhere. There's no marks on the wheel liner or sway bar.

Thanks for the insight guys. So here's the bigger question. If you're running 305/45r22s with no level and no rubbing, how much larger could you go with a level? Any idea how much clearance you have? Wondering if I could fit the 285/50s which are 33.27.

How's noise and MPG's with those? I'm a daily driver but those look just aggressive enough to be cool AND useful.

I posted this pic a couple of pages ago. Running 305/45/22 Terra Grapplers with no change to the suspension. Only slight rubbing in reverse at full-lock. Rides a bit stiffer than stock, but it's not terrible. The sidewall on the 285/45/22s was just a bit too short for my liking.

 

22's with "I'm going off road" tires. Love it.

The 285/50/22 would fit easy, especially with a level. But unless you need a E rated tire, I'd probably just go with the 305/45/22. The 305 is less than .5" shorter and a little wider. Probably not noticeable to the naked eye, but is only LT rated so it would be lighter and ride better. If I go with 22s, thats the decision I'd make. The 305 is also quite a bit cheaper than the 285/50/22. Not sure if the extra .5" is worth the price premium.

 

The 285/55/22 would maybe fit on stock wheels with a 2.5" level, maybe need a little trimming or a small BL. It's about the same size as a 275/65/20 and lots of people fit those with just a level.

 

The 325/50/22 would be rubbing all over the place on stock wheels because of the width. Height might clear with a level and BL.

Thanks, those are perfect. If you get tired of them, I'm in NJ too. I've got a nice set of 305/55/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers and Procomp rims to trade!!!

They are XD series rockstar 2 rims. Look like 20 x about 10 with a heavy offset . Tires are a mud tire and probably 35's x 12.5 as they don't bulge much past the edge of the rims. I could be wrong but that is what it looks like to me. Looks like a six inch lift too.

Not sure if this dude is a member on here , but saw his setup and it was awesome.

 

Can you guys guess what size he's running?

 

I'm guessing 285/70-17 ? not sure if there's even a level kit

Can anyone spot this wheel set up? Rim & Tire. It's exactly what I'm looking for. Looks to be sitting on a 6" or 8" lift.

 

 

 

 

My guess is a 6-7" lift. I think the tire & wheel setup is 35x12.50x22 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 22x12 KMC Rockstar rims, probably with a -44mm offset.

Mine is at the shop now getting 2.5" RC level kit installed and a set of 275-65-20 BFG KO2's, I cant wait to get it back tomorrow....

Good looking truck and nice wheels. The 305/45/22 is 32.8 in diameter and the 285/45/22 is 32.2. That's about 9/16" total O.D. and only about 1/4" on sidewall height. I don't see how 1/4" would be too short for your liking or even noticeable by just looking at the tire. The 305 is a bit wider with a 12" tread width compared to 9.5" tread width on the 285. I think the 305 is a little too wide for factory 9" wheels on a stock suspension and is why they rub. The 305 is designed for a 10" rim and will give the "balloon" look on a 9" rim. I'd stick with the 285. I have similar wheels (CK159) instead of your CK158. I'm running Cooper Discoverer SRX 285/45/22. They fit the 9" wheels perfect, were road force balanced and ride great.

I keep going between the 285s and 305s also. Trying to decide given the price, I like the Nittos more (tread, etc) but they are also a lot pricier.
