no car company is perfect. Ive had a lot from fords to BMW to Benz and at some point they all had issues.

Most vehicles don't but when your selling half million trucks per year you will have 1-2% that have issues.

It sucks to say the least but we all hope he manufacture can be helpful in making it right. Every case is different.

Cheap gadgetry is replacing quality in new vehicles, as it appears that many younger people do not care about quality at all as long as the vehicle is loaded with cheap "high tech" items. Unfortunately with high car and truck prices and stagnant wages, not too many people can afford to replace $ 60k+ vehicles every few years and take 50% depreciation on them.

Somebody on one of Impala forums said that my '09 Impala LTZ is a piece of junk because it does not even have a USB port. This just confirms the mentality I am talking about. My car has 92k miles, and it has been a very good a reliable car, practically trouble free. I am still on the original brake pads and rotors and the engine and transmission have been just about perfect so far.

Thank the cell phone carriers for that. Everyone is conditioned that they "need" the new phone every year. It's generally just like the old phone, maybe slightly better according to the tech geeks who drool over the inner workings of processors and pixels, but hey! It's shiny and new! I GOTTA HAVE IT!

The auto industry tried this with leasing. Maybe if they'd called it the "New Every Two" plan and charged by monthly mileage use "buckets" it would have been more successful?

As for the 1-2% of problem vehicles, I think most people would understand that things happen in mass production IF they were treated well and taken care of by the dealership network when things do go wrong. The biggest complaint I see across all brands is that when problems occur there are too many instances where the dealer/manufacturer tries everything possible to NOT take care of the issue/customer. People expect a higher degree of professionalism and work quality for the prices dealerships charge, and too often customers feel they aren't getting that.

GM projected earnings last qtr, $1.19 per share, actual, $1.50 per share. I think they should take some of their money and fix or replace the vehicles that allowed them to make that much money.

I'm with you on that [emoji106]
