Last year in advance of the holiday sales season I did an analysis of the sales volume over the two prior years. Indeed, vehicle holiday sales promotions do result in a big sales bump for most brands. Lexus is one of the top brands for sales-related gains during the holidays, but Chevy is no slouch. Last year, Chevy's December was 20% greater than its November sales.

Chevy's 2015 December sales push is on and the deals are ridiculous. Like $10K off a Silverado before you even begin to negotiate (at least according to this Chevy Advertisement). However, not all of Chevy's great products are being highlighted this year. The Colorado didn't make it to the holiday photo-shoot. The reason why would seem simple. Chevy can't build enough Colorados to meet existing demand. Why discount?

Have you ever bought a new vehicle during the holidays as a gift or are you thinking of doing it this year?

The Corvette, Camaro, Suburban, and Tahoe are not pictured either...

Also, does the Silverado look really really small in that picture or is it me? It looks like it is 80% the size of the real thing.

The Silverado is about 3/4 behind the sedans, making it look smaller. I suspect they did it that way in order to get all five vehicles in the photo.

Where was the SS Performance Sedan? Why omit the finest 4 door automobile ever to wear a Chevrolet badge?

I made the decision to never buy new again after I bought my '07 Silverado. That was the first new vehicle I had ever bought in my life ... and will be the last. I'm like an elephant when it comes to getting screwed. I NEVER forget.

I still say they shrunk the Silverado for the picture. My Tahoe and the Silverado are almost exactly the same height, when I park next to an Acadia, Outlook, Enclave or the Traverse, The top of my Truck is a good 4"+ higher. I can almost see the top of those smaller SUVs. But in that picture the Silverado is apparently exactly the same height... I know it is not a big deal, and not worth arguing over, but it makes the truck look smaller than it really is and it drives me crazy.

That pic only shows vehicles that GM has a large inventory of that needs to move.

Local Chevy dealer has 32 2015 Silverado's on the lot, no 2015 Colorado's, 4 2016 Colorado's.

Local GMC dealer has 61 2015 Sierra's, no 2015 Canyons, only 1 2016 Canyon.

Friend is asst sales mgr for the GMC store and he says GM pushed these vehicles on them.
