So my truck is Victory Red. And i have a red addiction so obviously all the Silverado "Blue" drives me crazy.

Curious if anyone has swapped out the blue controls for red controls? I am even thinking the cluster if it can be done.

I have found the, hvac, lights and 4x4 controls parts but not sure if the cluster could be done.

I would be ok with just swapping the panel but I don't think its possible and I haven't found anyone doing custom ones.

Also I have z71 and my cluster has z71 on it an I am not sure of the Sierra's have that on their cluster.

Thoughts?

I want to go the other way. Have a blue GMC and would like to go to blue lighting. Too bad we are so far apart (and in different countries) but I am interested in how hard this is to do.

most of the parts are modular and easily swapped around. the gauge cluster would be the hard part.

Gauge cluster would require programming from one of the members here (GTP something, can't recall offhand) as GM won't do this.

I have a 1500 Silverado WT2 victory red and have the same problem. I'm not so concerned about my cluster since the WT2 screen isn't in color, but I've been trying to find Climate controls along with other stuff and it's harder than I thought. I can get the light switch (gmc) for $30.00 oem which I think should work and the climate control for a little over $100 I think. where I run into an issue is the radio controls. The whole thing is integrated into the mylink. So I'm thinking I should just be able to buy the intellilink screen and plug into my mylink computer and walah red buttons on a mylink... The downside... I have a 4" io4 screen and I don't know where on this planet to find one used or new from GM.

yeah the radio controls are the priciest outside of the cluster.

holy crap on the radio control, I think I would try disassembling it an solder in red leds

I've heard they are really small and quite difficult to solder. But for the difference of $1,200 I think I may try it when I get the chance

Or $500 in the case of the one you found

I was debating looking in a junkyard and seeing if I could pull some controls out of a wrecked Sierra

Keep in mind some of these control units are VIN coded based on trim levels, so swapping switches or modules may not work, example HVAC controls. Its looking like a LED or light swap is needed, possible its a filter or plastic color cap and maybe removable, someone would need to pull apart a used unit to test with.

Did you read somewhere the HVAC controls are vin coded? The parts look readily available from gmpartsdirect.com

No offense to anyone but, dang you guys are getting down to the finer points here for that kinda $$. I did have a GMC and the red is so much better to look at compared to the blue.

I'm more of a blue person myself. That's probably the only thing about my GMC that I do not like. If I could swap it all to the Chevy blue color I would. :)

Sounds like you guys need to start sending parts back and forth to each other. Much cheaper than buying new parts.

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this thread? I'm interested in switching to red on my 18 2500
