New OPT7 H11 LED Headlight Bulbs

Hey bud. Did u change out the fogs too? I just ordered an OPT7 25w hid kit for my fogs. The led bulbs weren't bright enough for me

 

No I didn't. The LEDs are super bright so I didn't think there was any reason to get the Fogs since I don't use them lol

To be honest I have no idea if they will function as DRL I don't think our lights do that in the daytime? Excellent lights though

 

I emailed OPT7 and asked about these lights functioning as DRLs. Here is their response:

Thank you for your interest in our kits. The Led conversion kit due work well with the DRL';s for most vehicles.

 

However. I see that your vehicle is a Chevy Silverado. We have recently run into issues with the newer Chevy Silverado and the led kit does not work well with the vehicles system even when you place in the capacitors.

 

Some installations have been successful but I just want to inform you ahead that you might run into issues when you purchase this kit.

If anyone has installed these bulbs and they are also used as DRLs, let us know your results.

However. I see that your vehicle is a Chevy Silverado. We have recently run into issues with the newer Chevy Silverado and the led kit does not work well with the vehicles system even when you place in the capacitors.

 

Some installations have been successful but I just want to inform you ahead that you might run into issues when you purchase this kit.

If anyone has installed these bulbs and they are also used as DRLs, let us know your results.

The picture would be a shot of my low beams. I think starting in 2007, GM/Chevy did away with separate DRLs and used the low beams, at a lower voltage, as the DRLs.

If you google "2014 Silverado" you will see some daytime pictures of Silverados. The low beams are on because they are the DRLs.

Ah no you couldn't do those with these LEDs. They aren't meant to run that long for an extended time every day. Why not order g2 DRLs?

The DRL function is built into the truck. I would have to disable the DRL function every time I started the truck during daylight hours. You state you don't have DRLs, but I didn't think the 2015s came without them. Did you permanently disable your DRL function or do you turn yours off every time?

Daytime Running

Lamps (DRL)

DRL can make it easier for others to

see the front of the vehicle during

the day. Fully functional DRL are

required on all vehicles first sold in

Canada.

The DRL system comes on when

the following conditions are met:

. The ignition is on.

. The exterior lamp control is

in AUTO.

. The transmission is not in

P (Park).

. The light sensor determines it is

daytime.

When the DRL system is on, only

the DRL are on. The taillamps,

sidemarker lamps, instrument panel

lights, and other lamps will not

be on.

When it begins to get dark, the

automatic headlamp system

switches from DRL to the

headlamps.

To turn off the DRL, turn the exterior

I guess I honestly don't know lol I have the LTZ but I don't think any lights are on during day driving except for the marker lights maybe. I have these as my low beams and I know for a fact they aren't on during the day.

You must have gotten a bad batch, mine are WAY brighter than stock. Pics to prove it lol

As I was reading other topics on OPT7 today, I saw where one member posted an ebay link to the OPT7 lights he purchased. I followed that link and noticed that the bulbs were 35W. The amazon link in this topic is for OPT7 55W bulbs. There will be a difference in brightness between 35W and 55W. That may be a possibility in the poor light output of your bulbs. Just a thought....

You should be fine with the 55W bulbs. I think the oem bulbs are 55W.
