Do Denali's have too much chrome in grill?

OK, I come from a GM family and have owned many GM vehicles. I just bought a  GMC Sierra 1500 Crew STL2 over a Denali in January. Now I like chrome but does anyone else think GMC goes overboard on the Denali chrome grills in their vehicles? I feel like they are just trying to out chrome everyone else. It's almost like, "hey, look at all this chrome. I'm a Denali. I'm expensive!" I may be biased but personally believe the STL grill is more subtle and stylish. My STL has the premium package with most of the same options as a Denali as well.

It all boils down to personal taste. Old guys like me like the chrome, but these young whipper snappers like body color or the blacked out look. Mrs. Muddkatt picked out the LTZ with all the chrome while I picked the Sierra back in 2001 with lots of chrome. About the only car or truck that I have owned in the past 30 years that did not have chrome was the 94 Impala SS. It looked bad ass in all black when most cars still had some chrome.

Never noticed chrome on the Denali PU's? Maybe it is an optical illusion.......So tell me is this dancer rotating clockwise (looking from top down) or counterclockwise??

Do Denali's have too much chrome?  NO.  At least not in the current truck.

Proof:  GM added more chrome to the upcoming 2019 Denali.:D

Never liked the overly done Denali grille, and painted bumpers. I went with the SLT, because of these details, and the $14k difference in price! I am very satisfied with the SLT. It's premium enough for me.

It is all preference, what are you trying to accomplish here more affirmation you bought the right set up? If you are that curious put up a poll, each person will give a different answer. I like some chrome but it is a little much for me, not a fan of colored matched on trucks as it looks like they are trying too hard to look like a sports car and there is nothing to break it up.

BTW, it is SLT not STL...

See that's the thing, it is actually your  mind playing tricks on you, the image is only rotating back and forth not all the way around the mind fills in the blanks and can make it seem to be rotating either way quite easily. Reminds me of the SPIN coming out of Washington Hahahahahaha. My tricky little mind says that the Denali has the perfect amount of chrome, yours may tell you just the opposite.

It's not just old guys. I'm 24 and I think the chrome front ends look the best. It makes my stomach curl when people start to paint front ends or even worse paint wheels black. I don't get down with all the stick on chrome like the door handles and vent visors and stuff like that, but I think its only proper for a truck to have a chrome bumper and grill

In general I think any chrome is too much. The only chrome on my truck is the bumper filler and the outline of the bow tie on the grille, and I’m looking for ways to get rid of those.

With that said, I think the Denali is well done. It’s a lot of chrome, but the design of it still looks tasteful. Usually chrome looks cheap to me, but the Denali manages to make it look upscale.

I likely wouldn’t buy a Denali because that entails paying for a bunch of stuff I don’t care about, but I do think they’re good looking trucks.

I understand the point you are making and I agree with you.  The picture drives me crazy because I can usually control / see through these mind tricks!

I like chromed parts on my bike and truck.   It provides good protection to these parts.  Like most things in life, moderation is the key.  Adding sheets of stick-on chrome, for example, to lower body panels is a little excessive, imo.  I grew up in the 60's era when an absence of chrome was characteristic of the lower trim levels.  The chrome levels still reflect the model  but not necessarily the value. Denali's are great looking trucks and the chrome is part of this look.
