UPDATE:  I stated earlier that I had a small leak so I put a small towel on the back of the seat to keep the drips from reaching the floor.  Raining pretty hard here in Memphis so I went to check on the towel and it is soaked!!  I guess I will be keeping extra towels in my truck as my appointment with  the dealer is a week away.  What a disappointment.  Also, someone asked about my previous post what I meant by a "collapsed dash" on my previous "new" Silverado (less then 3k miles).  I was driving down the road and the dashboard on the passenger side fell.  Literally just fell.  The glove box was pointing towards the floor.  The dealer kept the truck for 30 days but couldn't fix it.  Therefore, they bought it back and sold me this leaking version that I have now.  I'm ready to sell at a loss just to get out of a Chevrolet.  I miss my Avalanche I had in the early 2000's.  Never an issue with it.

something isn’t adding up.  I just got off the phone with a senior person at GM that told me all back windows are not just back ordered - they actually have some sort of hold on them from shipping. From TAC I believe is what was said.  Waiting on mine since Nov 29 or something. At this point I don’t even know.

I agree. Up until this point, the service advisor kept telling me the glass was on back order. Then today I got the call that it was fixed. I wasn’t able to pick up the truck tonight so I won’t have any more information until tomorrow. However, my window frame had a visible crack inside the cab so it will be pretty easy to verify if in fact the glass was replaced. I am prepared for the worst but hoping for the best tomorrow.

Since I am going to start this journey, I thought of keeping some notes of contacts, users etc

Contacts

Correction Procedure [GM Bulletin 18-NA-383]

This Bulletin applies to Vehicles built before Oct 1 2018. We did have a user report Headliner Damage

with a Build Date of 1/27/2019.

        Contact the Dealership

If the Headliner was damaged due to water, the front windshield must be removed for headliner re-installation

Allows the Headliner to be inserted thru the windshield for installation

If the window must be removed, the rear seats will be removed for the process.
Inspect seating and carpet for dampness and mold and have them replaced. Seats might be a stretch.

Inspect the paint around the window to insure it is not damaged or chipped

Inspect Trim in the back around the window to ensure no damage

Take pics of the outside and inside for future reference and compare to the "after the work"

So the Dealership will attempt the following  3 procedures.

Contact Chevy Customer Care and lodge a complaint to get it on the record. Use Chat to keep a record of the convo.

If need be, send email to a higher up GM Exec which in turn will cause the GM Executive Service Rep to make contact some how.

Fish_Guru reached out to the VP at GM and did get a response back. I did the same when I needed a front bumper. So they do

followup on complaints. But ensure you follow contacting the Dealership, Chevy Customer Care, state your problem and be

                   COURTESY.

1 Pull down Headliner to allow removal of Spoiler. place new sealant on the top edge of the window and check leaks after everything is back together or
2 Inspect Window for Sealant crack and clean the old sealant off the window and body and reapply sealant and install window or
3 Inspect Window for upper rail cracking and obtain a new window and  reapply sealant and install window

Try to have all the parts needed on hand and a plan of attack to minimize how many times [once hopefully] they have to perform surgery on the vehicle

Know your Auto Lemon Laws for your State [Example Michigan]

The law applies to privately owned passenger vehicles and those leased after January 1, 2000, used for personal, family or household purposes.
Some business-type vehicles may also be covered. The law does not apply to larger trucks, motor homes, motorcycles, or off-road vehicles.

A defective vehicle is one in which the same problem has not been repaired after four attempts, or a vehicle that is out of service 30 days or more for repairs.
The first report of the defect must be made within one year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser or lessee or during the term of the
manufacturer's warranty, whichever period is shorter.

If the vehicle you purchase is defective, you may be entitled under state law to replacement of it or a refund of the cost of the lease.
To obtain replacement or refund, you must first report the defect in writing to the manufacturer and you may be required to first arbitrate the dispute.

In order to protect your rights under Michigan's Lemon Law, follow these steps:

Keep copies of all correspondence to and from the manufacturer and the dealer.
Keep copies of all work orders for repairs on the vehicle, including the date(s) the work was performed and the mileage on the vehicle at the time of the repair(s).
Follow all requirements of the warranty, including any requirement that the repairs must be done by an authorized dealer specified by the manufacturer.

After big issues with two in a row, I don’t think anyone could blame you for jumping to another brand.

I would call Customer Care at 1 800 222 1020 or email at https://www.chevrolet.com/contact/email-us. The GMexpert email may not work since it is an old address.

Customer Service probably will not be much help but it would start your documentation period. Your best bet is to have the dealership put you in contact with the Field or

Service Rep for your GM Region.

Just dropped mine off. Was told I didn't have an appointment and they didn't give out loaner trucks. They called Enterprise and I'm in a 2019 custom Silverado. No sliding rear window, no headliner stains, no leaks. Said they would be in touch...I'm gonna need to get a new headliner out of this at least

Drove my truck this morning in the rain for the first time since I found out the rear window was where my water problem was. The truck was in a steady rain sitting in a parking for a couple of hours. When I got home I checked the towels I had stuffed up there. Towel on the drivers side was soaked, full size towel, the towel on the passenger side was dry but I did have a little bit of water on the inside of the window. No wonder my truck smelled like sour carpet off and on the past couple of months.

That’s interesting I wonder if the “ hold on them shipping” is gm deciding to no longer install these flawed windows

Had a follow up call today.  Sounds like they put in for a replacement window with a certain part number, that then changed to a new part number, and finally it’s on a third part number as ‘replacement part’ for my truck.  However, there is no price listed or date listed on availability and basically at a stall point.  So I wonder if something has changed somewhere on the engineering side or the supply side and just waiting for a redesign of the window? Not sure.  My service guy seemed very confused on the fact that a price wasn’t even available.  Said that was highly unusual.

    • Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.
    • Can someone confirm if the GM order workbench terminal is able to validate a custom build sequence:   1) Initialize the Allocation Base: Open a new vehicle build queue, select the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD, and pick the High Country (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group).   2) Select the Diesel Powertrain: Go directly to the engine configuration screen and choose RPO code LZ0 (3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel). Ensure it maps to the MHS 10-speed automatic transmission.   3) Deploy the Seating Swap: Navigate to the Interior Options screen and enter RPO code ATT to replace the standard captain's chairs with the power-release 60/40 bench seat. Because you are not trying to force a separate luxury or air-suspension bundle, the standard, premium D07 Fixed Floor Console remains active. The system will accept this change immediately without triggering a warning message.   3)Apply Heavy-Duty Hauling Capability: Input RPO code NHT (Max Trailering Package). The commercial terminal will automatically bundle the required trailering hardware and software modules to support the diesel engine's maximum towing capacity.   5) Layer the Premium Tech and Glass: Separately add code C3U (Panoramic Power Sunroof) and code UKL (Super Cruise) to the order screen.   6) Run the Final Validation: Click the "Validate Order" button at the bottom of the interface.
    • Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.
    • Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.
