I have the BakFlip MX4.  We've had a lot of rain, some severe, in the last month and mine hardly leaks.  I'd definetly buy it again.

Based on the pictures, the front seals on yours are jacked up.  They also appear different than mine, but it's likely been revised since this topic was started.

I bought a 2020 AT4 a couple months ago and had the dealer install the hard tonneau cover. This thing lets in so much water it’s crazy. Does anybody have the installation instructions? Curious to see if they installed it wrong. It looks like it needs an adjustment. The triple lip seal at the back of the tonneau barely touches the tailgate and lets in water. It looks like I have enough contact at the front to adjust the whole thing back a quarter inch. Also there are two gutter tubes in the front corners that exit through holes in the front of the box and they leak more water into the box than they get out.

I have one of these covers and mine only lets in water when I go through the auto wash... I think they have it installed wrong.

The dealer removed my cover and gave me a full refund which more than covered my new Backflip MX4. Gonna be Installing it this weekend.

How is the new cover?

I just installed the MX4, fit was good but I than spent many hours adjusting and trimming the bed seals at the rail ends as most all the corners the seals overlapped each other mostly with the ends of the rail seals under the corner seals. This was leaving a small gap.

Few other things I noticed and addressed,  The tailgate panel lip had raw aluminum showing were it was cut used a black sharpie on the cuts. be sure to clean out the holes for the clips at the front they will have aluminum shavings in them than wipe off or the shavings will get in the seals.

Installed BakFlip F1 on my 2016 Sierra and an MX4 on my 2021.  Both leak drips in 4 corners during rain.  I did ensure alignment of install, but never spent much time adjusting gaskets and trimming.  I accept its part of the nature of the beast to have low profile, folding, etc.

Interesting I have the same REV hard folding cover and during a hard rain storm it gets a little in the front and a drip or two in the back. I have it aligned about as close to perfect as possible and double seal up front. Dealer might not have it aligned to how it needs to be. Easy enough to loosen and slide it around to get perfect. Close cover and lay in bed and make sure you can't see light through all the corners. Then tighten down, should help a bit

I have the hard roll up on my 2017 Silverado and it leaks like crazy in the front left corner. I have adjusted it and can’t get it to stop leaking. I used to have a cheap soft tri-fold on an older truck and never experienced leaking as bad. Luckily it came on the truck when I bought it or I would be highly disappointed in it for the money.

I just got a new truck and got this cover from the dealer. I love the way it looks and how functional it is but I’m also having leak issues. It’s almost like the cover is a few inches too short. The rubber lip by the cab barely covers the foam seal when the rear tailgate seal fits like it says in the manual. (Two fingers of the seal touching the tailgate.) I went back to the dealer to verify that I got the correct cover and they said it is correct. I adjusted it closer to the cab yesterday trying to at least stop the water from covering the inside of the whole bed. Haven’t had a chance to test it yet. But now it barely touches the tailgate. It will probably leak there now.

Any update on these? Plenty of red flags on here, but just curious if they've made any changes if still selling them the as a GM Accesory. Noticed they removed mention of "by REV" and now it's just "Hard-Folding Tonneau Cover".

I just ordered one Friday since I had a whole bunch of GM rewards cash and it was on sale. I spent like 750 after tax on it in actual cash. I should be getting it early this week. I'll try to get my review of it in here after I install it.

So I go mine in just before dark. Having experience installing a variety of different tonneau covers, this one could have better seals BUT I think I've got it figured out pretty good.

I'll get some pics and notes tomorrow.

Nice! Thanks for the expertise. Seems like they didn't give a lot of room for error with these for a right fit.

So overall, I am pretty happy with it initially. See below for comments on the seals and weak spots

I do with the cover had a little more overall length to cover more of the tailgate and more of the front bed rail. I have the cover adjusted as far back as I can without compromising the weather seal at the front. This seal at the tailgate corners obviously is going to let in water, but I think all low profile covers are going to function the same, just the nature of their design. However, on my last truck, I bought a truck tailgate seal for between the bottom of the tailgate and the bed. There was enough left over material that I was able to put an angled piece in the upper tailgate area just below the gap between the tailgate and side rail basically sheading water towards the rear and out of the bed. I think I will do the same for this cover.

In regards to the font seals, this is a little better than the rear but not perfect. But I should be able to take care of this either with the left over weatherstripping in the kit or a thinner material from lowes or home depot. Having the spray in bedliner does worry me slightly about proper adhearance of the front seal but i think itll be fine as the tonneaus front seal sandwiches it in place.

Another critique I read previously in the thread was in regards to the draining of water from the tonneau rails towards the rear and not the front drain pipe. Obviously gravity is going to determine where the water flows. The trucks OEM stance with the forward rake is why they put the drains in the front. If you have a leveling kit or park on uneven ground, it may influence water that makes it into the tonneau rails towards the rear, where it will just flow into the rear of the bed. I may attempt to mitigate this potential with some type of endcap at the rear of the tonneau rail.

Overall, I know this is going to let some water in, but its just the nature of these low profile designs. Tonneaus that cover the entire bed rail, front rail and tailgate are going to be much better in regards to water diversion, but I like the look and functionality of this cover, especially being able to flip forward against the cab. Hopefully this will help others make their decisions.
