Well, as soon as I get mine (RST W/ 6.2/10 SPEED) I'll let you know. I'm still rocking my 2012 Silverado Crew Cab Z71. 175,000 miles, no major issues. Tows our 2020 Rockwood 2509s just fine.

I too use to have one of the '14 years but the 3.0L, great car, but the electronics on Audi's are so finnicky.  By far the worst of all the German brands

I still love my 2019 RST 5.3L Z71 after almost 2 years of ownership. Sure, I have my complaints. They are minor, however. Even as I was walking up to the truck this afternoon, I was filled with joy at good it looks (Satin Steel FTW!) in the parking lot.

2020 LT Z71 3.0L. Are there things I don't like? Sure, but are they deal breakers? No. Overall, do I like it better than my outgoing 2017 LT Z71 5.3? Absolutely.

 

The funny party, and this has to be nostalgia, is that I almost miss the clunky 6-speed. It felt 'trucky' to me. The 10-spd with the 3.0L is incredibly smooth that it I don't even feel like I'm driving a truck at times!

I too love my truck. I have had a couple of engine light/ no start issues that seems to be fixed after the last reflash. My only really concern is the sliding rear window leak. I got almost a year before the first leak. A new window has been installed and is so far leak free but I have real concerns about how long I can keep this truck. I had my 2011 Sierra for 9 years but if this thing leaks again I will probably trade it in and go with something else if GM can't prove this is resolved. Paying out of pocket to fix a window leak would not be cool...

Great forum topic, I had considered doing one myself. I love my 2020 TrailBoss LT! It's everything I wanted in a truck and I just love driving it. It's technically my first V8 too out of the 8 vehicles I've had in my 30 years of driving experience. As far as trucks go, I've owned multiple Tacomas (2004 TRD PreRunner and 2016 TRD OffRoad) and a 2012 F150 Ecoboost. This engine and transmission is just so smooth compared to those other trucks. I have instant power without turbo lag and my only complaint is that I don't have a cop-free long stretch of road to really exercise this engine. The interior is spacious, the infotainment system is perfectly fine (except CarPlay being washed out, but not a big deal), and the ride height is just perfect for me. I've done some light offroading and haven't had a reason to complain yet about its abilities. We'll see once we get some snow up in the mountains how well it does. Only thing I wish this had were better shocks, the Ranchos are garbage. Will be upgrading to Bilsteins pretty soon I imagine.

I completely agree.  I've been a member of many auto owner forums and they all seem to attract complaints of some sort in about 75% of the posts.  I think it's human nature to post complaints more often that one would post kudos.  That said, I have found them to be helpful in troubleshooting stuff.  I'm happy as a clam with my Sierra.  Tows like a dream and holds tons of stuff!.

Although I just got the dreaded rear window leak, I can not WAIT to get it back and start driving it again. Mine is a 2020 AT4, 6.2L w 10 speed, fully loaded and dark sky metallic, which I think is such a sweet color that changes gray, blue, green depending on the sun... All the added features from the rear view mirror camera flip to all the cameras surrounding it which helps maneuver such a big truck in parking spaces to the HUD on the windshield etc... it's such a fun truck to drive!

It's funny, I was on a 2 hour drive to our camp to plug in some heat tapes and do some other stuff and I has cruising up Interstate 81 in the rain and cool 38 degree temperatures - I looked around the interior of my GMC and though wow, what a great truck!

I still love my 2019 Sierra. No real issues to speak of in 24,000 miles. Had the CEL come one once, had something to do with a module not communicating. 30 mins for them to do some software upgrades and I was back in business. My rear slider still hasn't leaked **knocks on wood**. I plan to keep this one for a while.

I too love mine. I ordered mine in February of 2020 it came in late March and I had to wait until the end of April dealer was closed due to Covid. I have a little over 12500 miles so far other than 1 recall I have had nothing go wrong. I hated my 2017 truck which I had to buy because I wreck my 2015 truck. But this truck has been great good thing I ordered this one because GM does make this truck anymore or at least how it's equipped after 2020 no more double cabs LTZ. I went LTZ because I have had 2 mid night editions trucks back to back and I'm tired of all that black, black everything.  So yes I love my truck.

Count me in also.... Mine is a 19 LTZ with every option but max tow. 6.2 10 speed.

I have 72,000 trouble free miles, the ONLY time I have had a problem is when I hooked up  the new Pulsar LT.

I have had two back surgeries and one neck surgery, and my driver seat is very comfortable.

I will probably wait till the 2022 comes out for my next one.

Man you must drive a lot with that many miles. Proves you truly do love your truck. And yes, the 6.2L plus 10 speed does make for a wonderful driving experience.

Thus far i still Love my 21’ Sierra 3.0. Rides fantastic gets Great gas mileage, hauls the family and mutts just fine. Has more luxury and safety tech then I’ll ever use. Makes my old 17’ seem like a 1998.

I have owned a 99 and 04 Silverado and 09  and 15 Sierra, all bought new. My current 19 beats them all hands down, been very pleased.

      Length/amount of data capture will be important to consider, sifting through 5 minutes of a data log can be enormous when it is stored in milliseconds. Being able to find the 'event' let alone decipher it.   Presumably the driver would notice something and hit a button to capture the 'window' of data. That window has to be large enough for the operator to recognize the event and react accordingly.    The data has to be able to be retrieved easily.   The data has to be able to be understood. Which is the biggest challenge, dealer techs won't even know what most of it is and would likely not even look at it if an owner brought it to them. Meaning the owner, the least educated/qualified, trying to understand it.    How will the data be presented? Could specific PIDs be selected and a timelapse graph be watched? How will a specific value be noted as abnormal? Additionally, a good data logger would be able to 'learn' normal values for a specific vehicle and flag abnormalities automatically. It could in theory watch parameters degrade over time and suggest maintenance as needed. (If the MAF reading begins tapering off for a given set of other readings - MAP, throttle position, Ambient, etc.. a flag to check air filter.) With the amount of data available, a device (really the vehicle rather than an additional accessory) should be able to do more than issue a DTC. It should be able to run the full diagnostic suite automatically and present a solution rather than a code. (It's not the 90's anymore). The technology is available for the vehicle to not just say "P0087", it should know low fuel pressure, check other PIDs to narrow down the problem itself, and determine if it is a lift pump, high pressure pump, regulator, leak in the fuel line, clogged filter, etc. Even if it can't narrow it down, it should be able to guide the user to the likely problems.   This would be a major problem for dealer service departments, which are the manufacturers customers it is in their collective best interest to NOT have this available to the consumer.   Further, if the owner is going to be the primary consumer of the data, it's got to be at a consumer price point vs. dealer only specialty tool price.   This group is more 'involved' in their vehicle than general public/consumer and will have knowledge, experience, needs and desires that are quite different from the market at large.

      Lets see if I can sum up two pages of nothing useful.    You want to refute your own governments data of the "Purchasing Power" Index FOR THE ENTIRE USA and its territories replacing it with the experience of a single family and its business and label that reality?  Then pound on that for a week hoping it will find traction?    Stan, I've told you several times. I don't do irrational. There are more people in the USA than your family.    I'm pretty sure this tread is so blown up. I'll give you a few days or months if need be to post yourself silent then I'll see if I can find enough parts of the train to reassemble it.

      Facebook groups hate VSE, poor customer service; their responses to criticisms are pretty poor for a reputable company. I'm not a customer, haven't bought anything from them, but how they handle themselves on social media is a definite "No" for me.

      $10,000 for a transmission?   Pretty sure I could buy all the parts, tools, and education to rebuild it myself for a quarter of that amount.   or swap it out with a new one...
