Hi, I have an oil leak coming from somewhere near the front of the engine on my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. I noticed it was making a puddle towards the front of the truck. Anything tips is helpful!!

Kinda one of those deals where you will have to crawl under the truck to figure it out.

A leak that large is likely to be an oil cooler line or maybe even a timing cover seal/gasket leak.

Well, I know what the large leak is towards the back, thinking it's probably the rear main seal. Mostly just trying to figure out the one towards the front.

One question.

Your leak could be quite a few things, so how is anybody going to find it with a keyboard?

I thought this was a place for people to be helpful and not rude. If you don't have anything nice or helpful information, then don't say it at all.

Did you look for the leak? Like I said, could be many things leaking, you want me to take a guess?

Timing chain cover, does that help?

Crawl under with your phone, take some good pictures and post them.

There's many helpful folk here but we can't indicate what could be leaking with a picture of cardboard with oil dripped on it.

Put dye in the oil, you'll find the leak.

There is no answer from here that will be more than a guess.

Get down there and look for it. Clean the engine up and look for it
