Wheel and Tire Size

I hate to be that guy asking about tire and wheel size again, but the all the information I can find is kind of contradictory.

I have a 2011 sierra sle crew cab 4x4 with a RC 2" level. I was looking to get a set of BMF rims in either REPR, Novakane, or Rehab and I was thinking about a 20x9 rim with the 0 offset.

I got a quote from a guy that said LT275/65/20 tires on the 20x9 rims would fit my truck fine with no trimming. That diameter is over 34" and everything I read says don't go over 33" for a 2" leveled truck unless you wanna do trimming. 275/60/20's would be under 33" but I'm wondering if that smaller tire will look off and I'm still not sure if they'd fit.

What do you guys think? Or should I just give up the 20" dream and get some 18"s with 285/65/18s or 275/65/18s? I think either of these will fit. Anyway, any help or advice would be appreciated, pics of something similar would be awesome! Thanks.

They absolutely will not fit without trimming with only a 2" leveling. The 275/60s are a much safer bet, and those may provide you with some very minor rubbing at full lock. In my experience, guys that sell tires are wrong 90% of the time.

Don't give up on 20's. If you want 'em get 'em. It's all about tire size, not rim size. I run 305/40's on 22 inch rims with no lift, no level and no rub. Talk to the guys on here and they'll hook you up on the combo you need.

Yeah, the tire size is definitely the problem. But I'm going for that "off road look" so I kind of want some bigger rubber too. However, I have always loved the look of your truck. Those 22s and the lower profile tires of your rig look super clean.

So, what do you guys think:

275/60/20's on 20x9 wheels or 285/65/18s on 18x9 wheels?

Any advice from someone who has a similar setup or an opinion on whether or not either of these options would fit with my 2" level would be appreciated. Thanks.

And Blackout, you're right about tire guys. They don't give a shit whether something fits or not as long as they sell you the tires. Also, your truck kicks some major ass.

Well thank you sir. I would definitely stick with the 20's. 20" wheels and up just better allow the wheel design to open up and they're so much more visually appealing in that case. Another size to consider with the 20's is a 305/50. They're a little shorter but a good bit wider. Either way I would definitely go with an aggressive tire.

I would go with the 18s. I think more rubber looks a lot better than more wheel.

It's not like 20s indicate low profile...especially when wrapped in a 33" tire. I remember when 17s were considered big wheels... Now anything less than a 20 looks antiquated.

I finally found a setup that is damn close to exactly what I want. 20x9 BMF wheels with 275/60/20's. I found this pic on a different site and can't get a hold of the owner. In the post he said that he was going to do some minor trimming. I was really hoping to avoid that but might be willing to do some very minor trimming etc.

I also do some towing of my enclosed trailer, etc. And really don't want to compromise my ability to use my truck to it's fullest.

Does anybody run a setup similar to this with just a 2" RC level? If so did you have to do any trimming or anything? And please post a pic or two.

The zero offset is what may cause rubbing issues with the 275/60/20's. Guys run 275/60's and 305/50's (which I would choose) all the time with conservative offset rims. That being said, you should be ok with minimal trimming. And, as stated, there's no way the 275/65's would fit with just a level kit.

Well I finally got some wheels and tires. Thanks to all of you who gave me helpful information. Take a look at them and let me know what you think. They are 20" BMF Rehabs with 275/60/20's. Thanks again.
