Input for drag truck

Im 23 and I bought the truck shortly after I found out my grandmother has stage 4 breast cancer. I bought it for 400 bucks. It's a 94. I've already done some work to it.. Painted it. Dropped the backseat, spare tire. Still have some work to do. I would just like ideas on my truck. It can be motor, body, interior, anything really. Just want ideas and maybe give me something I haven't thought of and comments on what you think of the truck. My ideas for the truck is to drag it but flirt with being on the line for street legal.. If anyone has ideas for tires.. Something street legal that can withstand the drag strip and not having to replace them every week lol any ideas would be great. Thank you

Skies the limit bud, if you want to drag it and then leave the track in the same truck, get you some M/T street legal drag radials. Though I would recommend two separate sets of tires for drag and street. Good luck on the build!

Thank you I will keep that in mind I was debating on what tires to get I was thinking about Hoosier tires also but I do like the mt radials. Thanks a lot!!

Kind of hard to recommend anything without knowing what some of your plans are, what are you thinking for power plant? Driveline? Tubbed? Minitub? Stock axle or upgrade to a 9" or ?. Can you do this stuff yourself? Do you have bottomless pockets or are you on a budget?

Well I plan on rebuilding the motor cause it does need some work, I plan on working on the rear end. Yes I do plan to tub it out. Someone told me I could put 3'' blocks on the back so a bigger tire can fit but idk about that.No my pockets only go down so far I'm on a budget. I'm slowly making it ready. I plan on putting a cold air intake on it and series40 flowmasters or magnaflows I haven't decided. I used to have a dodge ram 5.2 magnum I raced but sold it and bought the chevy.. This is my first chevy ever. I'm doing all this myself. Besides the roll cage.. My buddy is gonna do that for me other than that I'm doing all of it myself...any suggestions?

Well if you are staying with the stock 350, or even a "rebuild" on that engine tires are not of any concern run the cheapest you can find it will barely spin them anyway if at all. "Stock" will only put 150 HP to the tire on a good day

So by rebuild you are changing the heads? the Cam? the injection? How exactly do you plan on getting that kind of power out of that 94 engine?

You will be sad when you see you only put 200 HP tops at the wheels with that setup. Put all the fancy stuff you want in that lower end it will not make good power till you ditch the crap heads. You can bore that bitch .060 and run any cam you want it will still be a slug till you do something with the heads.

Chevy boy I really have no budget.. I'm just piecing it together looking for deals here and there I have my own lawn business and almost all the money I make goes into the truck. I wanna work or my reward ya know? But not really a budget. It's just slow coming. What do you have in mind?
