Also, I'm new here and it's time for tires on my truck. I'm thinking about going with the Bilstein leveling shocks. What is the consensus on them? is there a better way to level? Also, I'm planning on using 275/60/20

 

 

 

So far so good, only had them less than a week. Ride is good, they are an A/T tire and will be noisier than stock, but not terrible. Hasn't rained yet, so no feed back on that.

 

Bilsteins are a good way to go. The shop who did my level said they would recommend them over any spacer leveling kit. I went against that advice, primarily due to price. I got a deal that I couldn't pass up. Im happy with my readylift 2.25 with UCAs.

So i put my RC 2" level kit and Toyo 295/55/20's on this weekend. Install was simple, just like on my 2011. It definitely helps to have an extra set of hands when wedging that spacer in there. 295/

Mine is finally done! After months of research I went with the RC 2.5" level kit front only, stock rear block. 20"x9" Fuel Nutz w/ +1 offset, 33x12.50x20 Toyo M/T tires. No rubbing, No trimming, yet a

I have these tires and love the look and ride. I am running 285/70s on stock 17s. They do well in the rain and have not had any issues so far. I’m also running the MotoFab 3/2 level/lift kit on my 15 Crew Cab.

Dang! Those look huge! What did you have to do to make those fit? And are they 35x12.50x17 or 315/70/17?

Yes i can all the way. I removed the sway bar and did a norcal tuck to clear the tire but i also removed some of the wheel well liner for extra clearance off road. As far as the level its a simple 2in coil spacer. Later on gonna go with a mid travel kit.

I did a norcal tuck with some wheel well liner taken off and removed the sway bar didnt have to but it feels so much better off road and the tires are 35x12.5x17 yes they look huge on the truck as it sits right now. Currently working on a front skid plate bumper !

I've got them in 285/65r18 on stockers....says 33x11 on the side.    Great fit with a level, but 305/65 would probably fit too.   Look incredible.  Ride pretty good.  Not noisy.  Great wet weather traction.   I've got 45psi in them and it feels weird going into a fast corner...like the truck is leaning.    I just take those corners slower now because I don't want to run 50psi in them.

I've read this whole post and went back a few time but still have a few questions. 

 

I'm going to be putting on some Bilstein 6112 shocks on the top level with a .5" upper spacer for about 2.25" lift. I really want to go with 275/65R20 BFG KO2's. I'm also looking at some Fuel Maverick 20x9 wheels and not sure if I can get away with the +1 offset or if I should go with +20. I want the wheels/tires to stick out just a little past the fender but also don't want any rubbing. 

 

With that all said, do you think can I do the +1 with the 275/65's? Or should I go with the +20 offset with 275/65's? Or are the 275/65 to much and I should go with 275/60's? 

 

Appreciate your input...just want to do this once! Truck info in signature.

I recommend going to "CustomOffsets.com", choosing "Gallery", then click on the "Advanced Search" button and I think you will find a few folks that did something close or the same (and I have no relationship to this company--just a great resource for me).  Maybe you have seen that resource already.

Driveway incline makes it look like it is squatting, but it is perfectly level.

275/65/18 on stock 18s

I traded my 20s with a guy that had an LT, plus $300 bucks on his end.  Tires were brand new on both sets, so the trade worked out well.  I like the 18s a lot better, and they ride smoother.

Oooo, me likey!  Been trying to figure out what to do with my 2015 when it's time for new tires (only 24k on it......lol).  Granted I am just looking at the Discount Tire site, but it says it won't fit.  I'm assuming that it works on yours because of the leveling kit?  I'd like to do something, but I don't like the flat truck look, especially after you put 5 pounds in the back and it squats.

Just put new wheels on today. Zone 2 inch front level. 275 65 18 Hankook Dynapro ATMs, 18x9 -12 offset XF Off-road XF-203 wheels. Happy with how it turned out. The stance with the -12 offset is more aggressive than I was expecting, which is good.

It has a 2.25 inch level. But it still has a bit of rake which is nice for hauling. Tires dont rub any.

Oooo, me likey!  Been trying to figure out what to do with my 2015 when it's time for new tires (only 24k on it......lol).  Granted I am just looking at the Discount Tire site, but it says it won't fit.  I'm assuming that it works on yours because of the leveling kit?  I'd like to do something, but I don't like the flat truck look, especially after you put 5 pounds in the back and it squats.

Any change in your MPG with these tires?

At least 1mpg if not 2mpg.   Get more like 15+ now instead of 17+.    Definite power loss when towing something heavy.   If they were 35s, I'd want to re-gear to 4:11.

      Bro, you still got that truck? I'm not seeing any m rust or flaking, which rusted metal flakes. Everyone thinks the wax "is rusty" but it absorbs its surrounding environment, creating a hard, natural shell that you can literally shoot with a bullet and won't flake off. It'll last 50 years like that as long as the barrier isn't compromised by getting in a wreck or meets a chemical that disolves wax. My 09's frame is even duller looking than that, and is holding up better than my rockers or 3rd set of painted shocks.

      No.   That would be an LT and higher trim.  Passive entry.  There would be a little button on the door handle and you can program it to proximity lock or unlock.     WT and Custom do not get this feature.

      Mediocre, how much did they lose on the poorly conceived EV strategy?   I wonder how much the stock price is being 'inflated' by all the buy-backs?   Cadillac literally looks like a brand without a rudder, no clear goals or product direction - performance or luxury? I guess performance because we can throw a small block in whatever we can and call it a day. Certainly not luxury when a Denali or High Country is reasonably cross shoppable. The Celestiq - no way - no vehicle can command quarter million prices when something wearing the same badge is on the buy here pay here lot across town.   Notice the 'base' Escalade doesn't even come with the 'leather-appointed' seating surfaces.   Hummer EV - fail Silverado EV - fail Sierra EV - fail Bolt/Volt EV (The most successful EV cancelled, restarted, cancelled, whatever its current status it)   Hybrids - none Sedans - none Medium duty - not anymore Minivan - none Coupe - none Convertible - none CUVs - 20+/-   6.2 Recall that landed squarely on the GMs highest seller - and specifically the fattest margin higher trims of the Yukon, Escalade, et. al. The most critical product line they fumbled big time. In the Escalade segment, are those buyers forgiving GM for a bad engine and patiently waiting for the fixes and dealing with the headaches? Nope, they dump them and go straight to the other premium brands.   In the ENTIRE GM portfolio how many aspirational vehicles are there? Corvette, Escalade (quickly being superseded by the obvious better value Denali)...   I posted somewhere else... what if Cadillac left the luxury game and became a performance brand similar to AMG or (gasp) Ferrari? Cut all the entry-level and base models from their line up and focus on the V-series or Blackwing or whatever they call it now. Of course, those would have the pre-requisite luxury and technology as standard equipment. This opens the floor for Buick to step in/up as the luxury brand (like they are in China), no 'performance pretenses' get rid of the 'entry-level' models with equally 'entry-level' power trains and become the Maybach to Cadillacs AMG. With those two brands effectively out of the way Chevrolet, the 'entry-level' brand has the floor to itself and GMC can take over as 'professional grade'.    Now each brand has a focus, no in-fighting, clear direction, and customer targets.   Just need to sneakily slide Corvette into the Cadillac brand and dump the vestigial script writing.

      I can't get enthusiastic about the 1.5T (or the 1.3 or the 1.2), I won't drive a CVT. But the stupid things sell in volume.

      There is a big difference in motorcycles and vehicles - nobody needs a motorcycle, they WANT one. That WANT is the most powerful force to drive price upwards.   I've hated every iteration of the Equinox, a prime example of GM laziness. It excelled at absolutely nothing, barely competitive by every metric. At least the latest generation looks decent.    I want to like the Buick Envista, but that pitiful engine plus FWD only is a BIG NO for me, I don't care how good it looks.
