Oh believe me I know ive had lots of trucks but im just at that age (36) where i dont want something annoying the crap out of me that i have to drive every day. There is always going to be drone its just depends on what you are willing to tolerate and everyone is different... This cherry bomb vortex when on the freeway is not horrible but its still there..turn on the A/C and the radio and boom its gone... I do about 40 miles a day on the freeway and here in California thats 70mph plus with the cruise control on which is prime speed for drone. On the streets no drone what so ever just the freeways.

Just tune out v4 and problem solved :P

If you don't want to do that, I ran my black widow venom 250 with v4 and the drone isn't bad at all at 70mph, almost worse at 50mph

I’ve been running exhaust since the 70s. Until they started scavenging exhaust ( cross over) there was no drone. Unequal exhaust creates no drone. Sure you pick up a few ponies but on the street I’ll go with no drone. Nothing to me sounds better than 2 1/4 twin glass packs on a 350.

Rich7930 let us know what you think. I'm curious what it sounds like on our trucks. It sounds great on other vehicles.

Did I choose the wrong exhaust? Friday to finish off a bunch of other upgrades to my truck I had the exhaust done. The conversation started with me referencing the GM borla exhaust and ended with a true dual xpipe leading into dual borla pro xs mufflers. It sounded great when I cranked it but it didn't take long for me to realize it was too loud in the cab. The exhaust guy seems to think my camper shell is amplifying the issue. AFM is disabled below 45mph and rarely engages anyway with the heavier tires and lift. With my foot on the pedal to maintain high way speeds I get a constant noise in the cab that is just too loud. I'm not 17 anymore and believe it or not this truck is a family hauler and my 2 year old could never sleep with this constant noise. Not to mention having to blast doc McStuffins so she can hear it over the exhaust. I've considered just chalking it up to poor decisions and getting the GM borla but my exhaust was cut to accommodate the true dual so I'd have to have that fixed or replaced to get back to a single pipe. Any advice or experience. Anything I could place between the exhaust and the cab to deaden the sound? I'm open to suggestions.ee53aa046d0ccdd89ac5105452e47fb1.jpg01d571519a63f4ad80e26258b013f840.jpg

Is dual exit exhaust worth it? I think I've settled on a flowmaster delta 50 for my muffler on my 14 5.3. I'm trying to decide if I want to do the regular 3"in 3"out like the stock exhaust does or if I should get a 3"in 2.5"out dual exit exhaust to go out each side. I'm trying to decide if its worth the extra cost of the piping, time, and 2 tips instead of one.

Unfortunately, there really isn't a lot you can do at this point to curb the drone besides changing mufflers....You can possibly add another small muffler ahead of it to knock out some sound, but any of the straight through "packed" mufflers will have some drone to them

It's a costly error but I think I'm going to replace my catalytic converter and put in a GM Borla system.

Or you can go Corsa....It will be louder outside than the GM borla but quiet on the inside....Not sure if you have the 5.3 or 6.2 but they have a split rear dual kit for the 5.3L...

Question for you guys. I have the Carven exhaust with the single passenger exit. My truck has a 5/7 drop and I need to dump the exhaust before the axle.

Any direct experience with the volume change from exiting out the back to dumping under the truck? I know it's usually louder, but how bad?

NONE!...IMO its the best exhaust system on the market ...It has a great sound and no interior resonance...The Sport system may be too loud for some, but I think its prefect...Cold starts are pretty loud..but after that it has a great sound...only gets pretty loud if you are in the gas hard, and even then its not annoying inside...Even in V4 mode, yes it does chopper a little but still no drone inside. Crusing down the highway is just as quiet as the factory exhaust...until you put your foot down..LOL

Its mostly just ALOT deeper sounding since the sound waves are bouncing around under the box.. I like the way it sounds dumped, but you will get more interior noise with it
