issue Tailgate cables different lengths

My Mexico Assembled 2014 Sierra is even, no problems here.

My brand new 2018 1500 tailgate is 1-1/8" higher than the bed.

The first digit of your VIN will tell you.  If it starts with a 3, for example, your truck was assembled in Mexico.  Where the  truck was assembled is not relevant to why cables may be a different length.

Donstar, my tailgate problems appear to have little to do with cable length.
