I see there is another recall on the 2014 silverado. Something about it jumping out of gear?

Can you dumb it down a bit. #4 wire to the tranny or something under the hood?

My hesitations problem started when climbing up hill and I took it in to their transmission tech and he found that the #4 wire was bad. NOW it looks like we have another recall on our transmissions as well. I wonder how much a new Dodge costs.

Yep. I am taking it in after work on Monday for a rod in the seat that came loose and tearing a hole in the left side of the drivers seat. I will make sure they check transmission as well.

Who else is having a transmission issue? I saw the thread about hard shift into 2nd, but towing yesterday at 65 mph the transmission literally jolted the truck like it fell out on the freeway, scared the sh*t out of me. Also under acceleration it feels at times like it cant find the right gear, hesitates a bit then finds it. Also when decelerating, letting off the gas it paused then hits. Wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues. Ive taken it twice to my local dealership and both times they say "Sorry, we couldnt get it to replicate for us, here are your keys."

Add us to the list ours is doing it too and then some. We get told by the dealer "No codes - it didn't happen!" http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/162450-does-your-2014-do-this/

Recently have been experiencing some RPM flaring between 1st and 2nd gear. The RPM's will shoot up for a quick second then go back down.

Is this the "unwanted shifting into Neutral" Recall at its beginning stages? It has happened twice in the last two weeks.

I have a Blackbear tune coming soon...might have to put it off a while until I have the dealer check this out...

*edit*

Put my VIN in this (https://recalls.gm.com/?evar18=GMcom#/)

site and it came up with this...

  • GM Program #:
  • N140192
  • Program Title:

UNWANTED TRANSFER CASE SHIFT TO NEUTRAL

  •

  • Status: INCOMPLETE

Thanks for the website link. Typed my vin and got the same results. Unwanted transfer case shift into neutral - incomplete. Is this all trucks or specific build dates?

My truck does the same thing that you speak about and when I enter my vin into the website i only get the N140121 for the transmission oil cooler connection. I have taken my truck in twice and first time they acknowleged the jump in to second but said I need to drive it about 5000 miles to learn my driving style and the second time they said they can't fix it since they have duplicate the issue. Hope you have a good dealer.

The transfer case is a separate issue from 1-2 trans shift flare. The trans will flare shift on the first shift after start up if you are getting on in with moderate throttle. After that they will shift fine. My previous 6spd auto GM cars did this and the new truck does it as well.

Yeah, I know one is not related to the other, I was just getting a little off topic.

I observed coming home from work this morning in cooler temps my truck rode like a cadillac at all speeds that were previously giving me shaking and vibrations (70-80mph). My tires are Michelins set to 32 psi cold (recommended on door tag). It was 60 degrees F this morning on my 30 mile all highway commute home. My trans temp was 170 degrees F. I also didn't experience any harsh downshifts or clunks on decel.

Something tells me that something in the driveline is out of spec or warps when it is hotter because when it is 80 degrees outside my truck doesn't ride this nice on the highway that's for sure.

Has anyone been able to notice these same results? Any ideas or input? My truck goes back to the dealer on Monday of next week.

If you have a 14 and your not having these issues I have to believe your the exception. Were all having the same issues. Have had mine back 3 times in the first 5000 miles and all I get is dont worry its under warrenty and what good does that do me when they wont fix it. For a 50k brand new truck it's embarrassment to drive. The service manager drove it and yep just like the rest he said. Had to love the verbage on my work order. " performing as designed "

Mine developed a noise over my vacation I believe. I put 2200 miles on it this week and about 500 of which were driving in the mountains of east Tennessee. I used the engine/tranny to slow the vehicle many times either in M1 with the hill decent controls, or on the highway the grade braking at higher speeds (~55) or so. The sound is kinda a loud click upon deceleration or moderate acceleration. Almost like a loud ac compressor kicking in. A loud hollow single CLICK and nothing more. No clunking or slipping otherwise. It sounds like the tranny/Tcase area? I have 6500 miles on the clock and I didnt really notice the noise until I was going up and down the steep winding cabin road. I did have the Tcase recall done this afternoon and noise is still occasionally there. Curious if anyone else's does so and is normal or something to pay closer attention to.

Do you think it's related to PIP 5175B that Shawn (crf450r420) posted on page 6 of this thread?

They have to take the front cover off and look for gasket alignment, test parts with air pressure, and check for loose bolts on assembly. The guy told me it would take a day, maybe two to check everything.

I was on my phone at the dealer for the original post.

Shawn, did PIP5175B correct the shift issues with your truck?
